If you can become any dead town role why not become a mason and bing bam boom you’re confirmed, can talk to other confirmed people, and can do fancy PR stuff

Imagine doing more work during the night phase then during the day phase.

TLDR is that I’ve ISO’d Wiisp a couple of times been wobbling a lot on the Guill/Whysper read (mostly due to how Wiisp just called Guill straight up bad). But the way he treated Zone felt really forced and he super town spewed Wind. Didn’t like how he treated Helz and Merc either but not as confident.

Current read list:

Wisdom, is there any chance you can show any work for this? You are leading off with your conclusions in this post, but I would love to see some of your analysis in-thread if you are able.

Yeah, this game is actually the first time I’ve played against wolf Wisp (we’ve played as town/town many times and me scum, him town a couple). This game was super strange because normally we sync up really well together when we’re both town and in this game he was just… shutting me down/not interacting with people.

Most of my indecision was me trying to figure out if he either was scum or if the forum software/activity was owning him. Turns out it was the former but that’s why I was aggressive in reaching out to him.

Also, I mainly liked the post because of your progression and conclusion after reading Chloe.

I won’t deny that Blitz has done towny stuff, but I am deadset on killing him for his EOD1.

Zone, talk to me about why you think Blitz is scum for their EoD1? That was actually one of the things that made me feel a lot better about the Blitz slot, as I don’t think Blitz hops on the Wisp CFD when they could have stayed on PKR.

The action was a temporary doc save. We both forgot to talk about how to use it because the time we both were in thread we were digging, so I panic last second saved Luku because I was out of my mind and forgot about Silv.

So yeah, I were more active in a temporary neighborhood than I was yesterday, despite my compadre not joining until I was 30+ in, so most of it was a monologue really, go me.

Honestly this feels like hindsight bias to me. You thought it was fine before and even felt the same way as me but as soon as you scumread me, it all just looks like TMI to you. I’m working from the angle of trying to find my towns before putting the rest in POE and I thought I was doing alright until I realized that I wasn’t happy with my POE of low-posters.

I’m not afraid to push people and then be wrong about it but I am afraid of pushing someone wrongly while doubting myself because I’d be ignoring all the signs that tell me I’m wrong. I’m also afraid of mis-clearing someone (as I had with Wiisp) which was why “townreading too many people” was concerning for me. I think I wanted someone to talk with me about those reads but I think only Wind responded. I wouldn’t blindly clear Wiisp like I did if I had TMI.

Yeah, what I was trying to say is that you were townreading a lot of people early in the game, which is completely fine and similar to how I play (figure out your townreads, let scum fall out in PoE).

I find it easier to look for town then POE the rest so I can’t say that I’ve been specifically hunting for wolves. Right now, I’m at Blitz/Merc/Derps/Wisdom being the ones I think are least towny.

I’m kind of concerned that they’re all low-posters or semi-inactive though. Thinking maybe I’ve town-passed someone too easily.

This was why I pinged you and asked who you thought was a wolf near the end of Day 3. You dropping in, rattling off some townreads, but not actually going through the legwork of voting, or simply even saying who you disliked at the moment, felt really weird to me, and I wanted to ask you about that.

I was thinking to myself, “Lemonfairy only had one real scumread, and that was on Blitz. Now that they’re uncertain about their read on Blitz, who are they scumreading now?” and then I got a list of people who were “least townie” as opposed to “here are some people who I think are woofing it up”.

Idk, maybe this is all difference in mafia theory/opinion, but I just found it bizarre that you didn’t have any wolfreads at that particular time on Day 3, when discussion was pretty heavy and the lunch was in doubt (before Aelin thunderdomed).

I did a quick ISO to look at these “horrible” interactions you’re talking about and noticed they mainly consist of me commenting on something Wiisp had said and then getting ignored by Wiisp. I comment on other people too and sometimes, they actually reply back - which is how interactions begin. Wiisp ignored me for the most part with the exception of that one time they pinged me about my immediate TL of Aelin after Aelin’s wallpost casing Wiisp. Honestly, Wiisp isn’t even in the thread a lot so it’s not surprising there aren’t a lot of interactions there.

I had Wiisp as SL initially but then I saw their interaction with Aelin was T/T because they seemed too honed in on each other and I’d expect scum to be more motivated towards pushing their mislynches onto town rather than tunneled into a two-person world. I then just kind of ignored the both of them because I didn’t think it’d lead anywhere. This second part about it feeling like I was pushing villagers is contradictory to your previous point about feeling like I was TMIing and was “too scared to push villagers”. Again, I think you’re just viewing everything I do as being scummy and ignoring the bigger picture here.

Yeah, these light interactions (or more accurately, the lack thereof) was one of the reasons why I was so convinced you were a wolf once Night started.

In my experience, scum across many different mafia sites have a lot of difficulty interacting with their own buddies. The way you and Wisp interacted with each other feels like textbook scum/scum interactions, where you both kind of side-eyed each other and had some minuscule interactions in the thread, but you both never really pushed or actively questioned each other. Stuff like this:

Because Silviu made an awful case on Wind (kind of like how you’re making a bad case on me right now except your case is a little better). Silviu’s case being an RT explains why their case was so bad. I’m wondering if you’ll offer me any explanations about your case on me?

I remember early on we were trying to hunt for wolves based off of who jumped on Silviu before he claimed mason. I just wanted to highlight that I still think there are wolves on that wagon, and you are a potential candidate.

Yes, I was town-reading PKR D1, mostly from tone and gut but I felt it was a pretty solid read. I was talking about that for a while and even managed to get Nika to change her mind and not tunnel PKR. I thought Kaif and PKR were both towny and wasn’t sure on Wiisp. The rate at which everyone CFD’d Wiisp made me think they were v/v/v wagons. Hence my analysis of EOD1 was based on a universe where those three wagons were town. Erika’s slot looked a lot worse to me than any of the wagons at that time.

Okay, this makes sense. I was just concerned because it looked to me that you were putting your vote on a vanity wagon Day 1 while lightly townreading PKR without actively defending him.

I think I’ve already explained my absence in an earlier post so I won’t go too much into it. Honestly, I felt burnt out from reading and discouraged about my reads (i.e., the bad POE I had).

Vomiting is a bit rude but I will say that I also found your case on me to be gross. Again, I can’t interact with someone who just ignores me. Commenting on posts is just my default setting unless someone directly talks to me. I honestly don’t understand how that made you so convinced that I’m scum and this might by OMGUSy but I’m also struggling to see your motivation behind this case as exploratory (town-mindset) rather than scummy and pre-mediated (as in, to me it looks like you just decided one day that I was scum out of nowhere and then ISO’d me for content to build your case from).

Mentioned this earlier, but my mindset when making this case was seeing Wisp flip scum and then having an epiphany on who was potentially fooling me. I then started checking your posts in the hopes that my conclusion actually matched up with reality… and then we get this haphazard case.
