As long as the reasoning is valid and not shady, I can tank whatever read is thrown at me.
This is why I can accept Merc’s vote on me without having to OMGUS her into a dogfight; her reasoning is simply valid, and she didn’t bother throwing shades on me either.
The reason why I drop my guard is because you admit to nullread me. That alone suffices enough to count as “not shading me”, which means I don’t have to put my resources (i.e. effort and attention) to you either.
