A campaign can only be defined as a revolution if it is successful.

So surely the only difference between a Terrorist and a Revolutionary is whether they won or not.

Iā€™m not sure if i would call that act of treason when weā€™re talking about Revolts.
The thing is, if there was a Revolt in ANY country and it would end up failling, if people were senteced to death, they were usually accused of starting the Revolt not for treason (Amnesty was a thing and i donā€™t remember it was ever used on ā€œTraitorsā€)

I will skip the fact it wasnā€™t act of patriotism, we canā€™t even consider that due to fact the country named ā€œUnited Statesā€ hadnā€™t ever existed earlier.

A terrorist is trying to cause fear while a revolutionary is trying to cause a major shift in government. They are also not mutually exclusive

A revolutionary is someone who defends a revolution, may they use violence or not.
A terrorist is a small, non-estatal group who uses public violence to scare people.

The two concepts arenā€™t contradictory. You can be both a revolutionary and a terrorist at the same time

But basically ditto to everything said in this thread, the only thing I have to add is being a terrorist is not ALWAYS a bad thing, it just almost always is.

Case in point; the Suffragettes. 100% terrorists but they were actually fighting for a just cause.
Unfortunately only idiots are actually convinced they need to use violence and terror to get something, so we might as well pretend all terrorists are automatically evil.
