Faction Suggestion [Coven]

The game starts with 3 members of the coven , they cannot recruit although they can still have the backing of the King .

First Witch

Passive:
We are Witchs Three : As long as there are three witchs you are immune to night death and occupy .

Day Ability 1 :
Curse -2 uses- Your targets body breaks out in boils .(message : you have been “cursed” by a witch!)

Night Ability 1 :
Scry - Discover the class type of your target
Night Ability 2:
Improved Scry - Discover the class of your target , only useable on Hexed targets .

Second Witch

Passive:
We are Witchs Three : As long as there are three witchs you are immune to night death and occupy .

Day Ability 1 :
Hex - Cast a Hex on Your target becomes incredibly accident prone .( message :you have been “hexed” by a witch!)
Day Ability 2:
Foul Brew : Poison your victim, they will die in two days .

Night Ability 1 :
Finger of Death : Kill your target , usable only on Marked targets .

Third Witch

Passive:
We are Witchs Three : As long as there are three witchs you are immune to night death and occupy .

Day Ability 1:
Mark - Your target is “Marked” for death , a terrible depression takes hold . (message :you have been “marked” by a witch.)
Night Abiliy 1:
Voodoo Doll - Occupy your target
Night Ability 2 :
Voodoo Puppet - Force your target to attack another player . usable only on cursed players .

Witch Hunter ( replaces sheriff or paladin )

Day Ability 1 :
Burn the Witch!!! (3 uses)- Immediatly cause a trial for your target .If they are executed they will show as a witch regardless of their class . ( they are still their original class ) . the user of this ability will be known by all .

Night Ability 1 :
Witch Hunt - If your target is either a princess or a witch , they will show as potentially a witch! Otherwise they will show as not suspiscious .

I don’t get how the Curse ability works explain?

So the hex , curse and mark , can be carried out on targets during the day . The players that are effected get a message saying they have been cursed marked or hexed .
At night a different witch will get a different effect if their target is hexed cursed or marked .

I have just thought of a better way of wording it all though . Ill update my original post .

Witch Hunter confuses me. Why Princess on the night result, and why would BD have any need for class disguising, and how is 3 uses for an instavote (already extremely powerful, if not OP) fair?

The princess on the night result is to give a degree of misguidance .
Its meant to reflect the witch hunter being somewhat of a zealot and pointing the finger at anyone who they think could be a witch with very little evidence other than that they are a woman .
The old joke of testing for a witch by seeing if they burn when set on fire . If they burn , not a witch . If they don’t burn - a witch .

The whole idea I had for the witch hunter is that although he works for bd he is not a perfect tool .

It could easily be changed to be a vanilla sherrif clone but I just thought this might be fun .

Also as you say instavote is OP to balance this the witchhunter abilities are imperfect

Lore is no reason for flawed game mechanics, to be honest. There are ways of making a class interesting without making them inherently worse than their alternatives

The mechanics aren’t flawed the character is . Its a limitation of the witchhunters ability that he cant discern between princess and witch .

Obv playing as a witchhunter you would know that your ability is flawed and would likely do further investigation before putting a witch to the flame .

I like the passive and the idea of a non-conversion based faction.
