if you were right you could use it to back your claim.
if you were wrong you could say that it was a prediction and you were wrong.

You arleady gave the answer.

You felt that claiming they were goo would be weird thing to claim, and you didn’t want anything weird. (it’s your own explanation after all, and one that you claim to be actual truth).

And if you inherited their abilities, you would refrain from saying their role as a wolf, so cleanings couldn’t be tied to you when they happen.
