There are no downsides to mislynching unless you lynch a Time Keeper or a player affected by Timelock. I guess other less direct downsides would be that you not only give info to the town but to the mafia as well so they can find the Time Keepers faster.

While town has several ways to protect outed time keepers all of them are limited and will run out eventually. Also besides time keepers and mafia no class is guaranteed to spawn, so you could have no doctors in the game if you are really unlucky.
