Just because it’s the best strategy in the case of no-ninja, doesn’t mean it’s one we have to choose. Plus if they have a ninja we are f u c k e d in the Cop8 scenario.
We are fucked if they have a strongman in the doctor scenario, yes.
We are less fucked in the watcher-ninja scenario, yes.
But the doctor scenario can be equally effective and significantly more fun. (If they have a ninja, doctor IS the correct pick.)
I will acknowledge that your strategy is close to gamebreaking IF There is no ninja.

Because if you, Icibalus, myself or another experienced player is part of the mafia, they WILL have a ninja and they will have predicted this play.
There is no way you know that.
And in strongman scenario watcher is much better.
And as you said in avarge worst-condition scenario watcher one is still better choice.
So… I don’t see your point beside it being less fun.
