REVIEW OF OUR OPTIONS

Okay. So most of us seem to believe Squid is likely telling the truth (I think he is about being Scorned at the very least, potentially lying about his second target but I don’t think so).

If we believe this, and Max (who I am 95% certain as Sheriff, as no other class really benefits from claiming it so early, and Met is clearly scum for his reactions) then we have 2 options.

Pros of Hanging Met the Confirmed Scum:

  • Guarantee a dead scum today
  • Appease the Scorned and make him more likely to side with us later on
  • Potentially increases the odds of Prince jailing a killer, reducing KPN

Pros of Hanging outside of the Confirmed Scum:

  • We gain more info of reads from the flip of anyone other than Met. The push on Met is already very artificial, as is with anyone openwolfing, as all his buddies KNOW he will flip soon so are very careful with associations. Scumreading is always the bread and butter of an FM game which we don’t wanna lose.
  • We optimise Prince’s abilities. Tomorrow we have the potential to have 2 dead scum instead of one. If we choose to hang Met now, it is likely Prince chooses not to exe, and equally likely he just exes a BD. We can be 100% Prince will still have his exes left if we lynch outside of Met.
  • Met will still 100% be dead tomorrow as Prince is occ immune, counteracting Pro 1 of killing Met.
  • Hunter can prove himself by killing Poisoned Squid. If Squid is dead we don’t need them on our side. In addition, we only ever have Squid’s word, we can’t ever really trust them. Therefore it is not worth making such a big move just to appease a Neutral (point 2).
  • At this point in the game we need to reduce the Unseens numbers as fast as possible before they get out of hand. We can potentially have 2 Unseen dead tomorrow if we do as I suggest. The chance we lynch a scum outside of Met is infinitely higher than Prince exeing a scum outside of Met as we collectively are 15X better than Prince on his own, and can read wagons and interactions.
  • The chance of Prince jailing Assassin or NK is very very small, and hardly worth considering chasing the “reduce KPN” line of argument.

Finally, I accept that there can be an argument to exe Met now. However, I really really think the benefits of getting someone outside of Met faaar outweigh getting him now.
