I strongly feel that it should be a night chat only

But we should also add an Encryptor

Let Apostle and some Unseen role do it

And the benefit of doing that is?

Itā€™s far more interactive to be able to shut down daychat

I really like that ability and Encryptors are just fun

Honestly Iā€™ll probably make a whole big post on stuff tomorrow

The main goal is to enable a higher skill ceiling with more coordination for the scum, since recent FoLs have been heavily BD favored it seems.

Perhaps an encryption passive on the starting MM/CL/Ass/Apostle? Itā€™s something that should be guaranteed though, not a random unseen convert imo.

But having a convert be able to do it seems much more fun

Is it really more interactive, or is it just swingy?

Although at that point Iā€™d just prefer daychat

Definitely not swingy unless that role is under- or overpowered

Well the nature of it will be a tad swingy anyway
As to some scumteams a daychat is pointless, since they donā€™t plan and have no real synergy

And yet if the scumteam is good and works well together it can be ridiculously overpowered.

But thatā€™s not even really what Iā€™d define as swingy ~ of course the game will be easier if the scum team is bad
But if youā€™re a good team, daychat is a HUGE advantage - thus, I feel like having an Encryptor puts much more focus on preserving the scum role itā€™s assigned to than anything else. If that player gets killed, itā€™s swingy to a degree thatā€™s really out of your control.
Therefore, I feel you should either have the daychat or not ~ adding an Encryptor seems REALLY clunky.

Here come a bunch of changes straight from SFoL18, plus a couple other ones.

General Changes:

You will not know who you are redirected to when you are.

Acolyte:

Removed. Instead, a random Cult member will spawn with the Cult Leader in Cult games.

Apostle/Invoker/Ritualist/Seeker:

New passive:

Disciple of Mithras (Passive) - If you are a member of the starting Cult, you will survive the first Blood of Mithras targeting you.

Aristocrat:

Noble Gossip and Royal Announcement removed.
New abilities:

Pull Rank (Day) - Your vote will count as two today. This will not be announced publicly or affect the number of votes required to reach majority. - 3 uses
Incriminate (Night) - Slip a player forged documents, making them appear evil to investigations tonight. - Infinite uses

Assassin:

Nightshade and Forage removed.
New abilities added:

Hidden Blade (Day) - Cut your target, causing them to bleed. They will bleed and die in two nights if not healed. - 4 uses (shared)
Distract (Day) - Distract a player, rendering them unable to any day abilities for the rest of the day. - 1 use
2-for-1 (Night) - Kill two target players. - 1 use (shared)

Butler:

Concentreated Wine now bypasses occupy immunity.

Cult Leader:

Conversion failsafe added:

If you have failed to convert a target twice already and your next conversion would fail it will instead target a random convertible player.

New abilities:

Rupture (Day) - Cause a player to bleed. They will bleed and die in two nights if not healed. - 4 uses (shared)
Train (Passive) - At any point before the start of the first night, you may message the GM and choose the Cult alts that the Cult class that spawned with you will receive, based on a class they can be converted from. If you do not choose the Cult alts, they will receive a random valid set.
Disguise (Day) - If the target player dies tonight, they will appear as a class of your choice. - 3 uses

Hunter:

Isolation and Wolf Companion changed:

Isolation (Passive) - Immune to occupation and target changing. Additionally, you may not use your night ability after using your day ability the previous day, and you may not use your day ability after using your night ability the previous night.
Wolf Companion (Day) - Summon a wolf companion to attack a player. They will bleed and die in two nights if not healed. - 2 uses

Cult Alt for Wolf Companion changed:

Uncontrollable Bleeding (Day) - Invoke Mithrasā€™ will to cause a target to start bleeding uncontrollably. They will bleed and die in two nights if not healed. Using this ability a second time requires and expends a use of the Cult Leaderā€™s Rupture. - 2 uses

Illusionist:

Mind Warp removed. Construct Reality changed:

Construct Reality (Night) - Your target will receive incorrect feedback from their abilities tonight, and will appear to be the Assassin to any investigations. - Infinite uses

King:

Royal Finger removed.
New abilities added:

Head of State (Passive) - Your vote counts as two.
Royal Pardon (Day) - Make a player unable to be voted today. - 2 uses

Kings that already had two passives had Head of Stateā€™s effect put into one of their existing passives.

Mastermind:

Conversion failsafe added:

Self-Care (Night) - Heal yourself tonight. - 2 uses

Poacher:

Rabid Wolves added:

Rabid Wolves (Day) - Lure rabid wolves to attack a player. They will bleed and die in two nights if not healed. Using this ability a second time requires and expends a use of the Assassinā€™s Hidden Blade. - 2 uses

Princess:

Willā€™Oā€™Wisp and Eyes of Corax changed:

Will-o-Wisp (Night) - Release a Will Oā€™ Wisp, lighting your targetā€™s room. If they try to kill somebody, you will know. - 2 uses

Eyes of Corax - Corax will watch over your target, preventing them from using killing abilities tonight. - 2 uses

Psychic:

Renamed to Mystic.
New ability:

Conduit (Night) - Your two targets will both be able to send each other two 1000 character messages through the host over the course of the night. You will later be given the entire conversation. - 2 uses

Psychopathic King:

Guard! added.
