FoL Feedback Thread

The game is ultimately up to how the people around you play, rather than your own contributions.
If you buff NK to where this isn’t the case, you’d have a setup with vanillas or something without having a rolemadness

They don’t have a faction
Reading them is ultimately reading for one specific scum that doesn’t have teammates

but in fairness I do think it’s notable that the majority (?) of BD wins in CFoLs and CFoL-adjacent set-ups have involved crosskills from the NK on the scum faction

BOOM

okay actually let me think about this

FoL 26 - definitely a town win either way but the NK killing Squid N2 certainly didn’t hurt
FoL 25 - no crosskills
FoL 24 - scum win so we don’t care about it
NFoL 4 - town win, NK killed deepwolf cultist N1
EFoL 3 - scum win so we don’t care about it
FoL 22 - town win, NK killed a Cultist on the last night at the same time as a TK killed the Cultist
NFoL 3 - town win, I don’t think there were crosskills?
FoL 21 - town win, I don’t think there were crosskills
FoL 20 - scum win so we don’t care about it
FoL 19.5 - town win, Assassin killed by NK and Hunter N1

Ultimately this game would have been a scum stomp without a very specific night action

NK also missed n1 kill and was redirected into warlock n2 for what its worth

inq/assassin killed the same target n1 and n2 but inq isnt nk :eyes:

squid had deepwolf potential imo

except she was wisped as cult but still

i will say this was likely ultimately the reason cult got stomped d2

:frowning:

Outskiled

In this case I’m looking at crosskills in the sense of scum factions killing each other, not scum doubling up on the same targets

Giving more investigative information to NK will yield less cross kills.

Wtf whats that

does the Warlock redirecting the Reaper into a Knight guard count as a crosskill

all you’ve done is added extra dependency on the NK peeking wolves, which doesn’t really solve the problem in the slightest, it just pushes it back a night and prevents a few crosskills. solic, the argument to keep NK given how unbalanced it is when slotted into a setup of this complexity doesn’t really have any actual flaws I can see

it’s like adding training wheels to a bus- technically it’d make it easier to turn safely, but not really.

there’s also the problem that the game suddenly becomes dependent on the NK in a different way: whether they peeked a wolf before MyLo/LyLo and can easily kill a wolf to prevent the Cultseen from stomping.

Mylo/Lylo doesnt exist in fol since there are no guaranteed kills

it still exists, it’s just not publicly known to the players.

that doesn’t undermine my point thought. NKs have to kill the faction that’s winning by neccecity, so whether or not the NK peeks the wolves suddenly becomes hugely important to the wolves’ victory chance, and while I’m all for peeks being important, i think entire games potentially being decided by when the NK decides to crosskill is a bit ridiculous

No kidding.

NK peeking town will bring about a similar effect. Them simply being more informed is going to reduce scenarios like the one game where Arete kept killing town when Cult gained majority. They will be better able to know what the losing faction is at any given state.
