Just like FM
TBH
Random, but i want someone to host a neutral showdown.
I cant lose What I dont have :^)
i can host crackpoly
thats 100x better
Gonna be a big yikes from me.
Sorry you canāt afford MARIO party
Oof
Just fyi, discord is also a good place to discuss balancing. We had some interesting talks already.
this isnt tol
this is fol
plus doing it behind closed doors kinda leaves out people from the process.
its best to gather a shitton of ideas and then sift through them to see whats best for the game
But what if we do it anyways and then patch up the holes to give games that are longer and on average more fun
After all, itās removing a slot with āno chance to winā, so why should people care for it when the game could also be balanced without it?
That was not the point. I meant: thereās some other audience too, a silent majority of fol players who donāt speak here often.
You canāt just balance everything somehow, just because some really loud people are wanting it. You have to think about it in-depth and try to think on everything.
If Iām honest, short game length doesnāt bother me.
Because after like 4 days, the game dies out and had like 15 hour silence periods
I donāt see why not tbh
Weāve already made drastic changes before
And if thatās whatās best for the game, maybe change isnāt all that bad.
itās a lot easier to discuss things here
I donāt get why they wonāt talk here if they play on the forums
Thatās why I have vested interest in trying out an FoL without NK
Sure, it damages some sort of spirit inherent to ToL, but the main gut of ToL stays
That being
- King with undeterminable mechanical alignment
- Conversion based scumteams
- Rolemadness where all roles have multiple abilities
Keyword is vested
Iām looking for alternatives
I donāt think anyone here, on the ToL forums, dislikes ToL.
However, weāve been pretty good about pushing the game in a direction we feel is best for it, even if thatās not what ToL does at the time. If itās a good change, it can be worth diverting a little bit - and there are a decent number of times where a change weāve made eventually gets added to ToL after weāve proved it works well.
- King with undeterminable mechanical alignment
- Conversion based scumteams
- Rolemadness where all roles have multiple abilities
- Punishing yolo lynches/executes by town
- Having a strong town class (Prince)
- Having a NK which you can play against the other side.
- Having neutrals you can try to win for your side.
(sorry, who of the tol people even knows that fol is existingā¦ donāt overestimate the importance of fol)
