FoL Feedback Thread

Also sellsword was converted old Merc

I know that, I just don’t remember when they were officially split up. Was it the neut rework, or before?

Anyways I gotta go

Have a nice day everyone

Mine is about to get really, really hot up north :frowning:

I think 8p games might still have some sort of altered spawn, anecdotally 8p games seem to nearly always roll GK + Sellsword.

I think removing NK is absolutely nonsensical for CFoL. Rather have any appararent ā€œswingā€ that comes with it, although I don’t think it causes that.

2for1 serves an important function that BD killers aren’t instantly proven the moment multiple bodies drop. You know… the classtype that should definitely stay unconfirmable.

Curbing King’s power even further is horrible to the point that you wouldn’t even want to elect anyone as it’s just a straight up worse class.

Just straight up lengthening the game arbitrarely with nothing happening is also stupid imo. Games need flips to happen to stay exciting. Day 1 is already perceived as boring. Now imagine day 2/3 with no lynching.

I think there are minor tweaks that could be done, but major shifts could be handled by altering spawn list. 2 extra BD for instance, although I don’t think it is so town/scum sided atm.

And yea we’re not going to create a perfect balance rolemadness with all PRs, conversion, neutrals and a unknown King. Obviously duh. It’s about getting close enough.

So I went and looked through earliest-possible-day lynches and this actually isn’t true; on average, when we lynch the earliest day possible, we lynch non-BD more than 50 percent of the time, and obviously we never have a >50 percent chance of doing so randomly on D2. Obviously the sample size here is really small, but to say we’re doing worse than random chance just isn’t true.

For the purposes of this analysis I included only matches that occurred since the removal of trials, since that seemed like an obviously important variable. I looked at CFoLs, NFoLs, and the EFoL that occurred since that point; I didn’t count any SFoLs. I assumed for the purposes of this data collection that the King is never going to randomly be executed D2. For the EFoL, I looked instead at the D1 lynch, since that was one of the things being tested.

Specific matches

19.5 - Assassin (N1 convert) lynched D2. 15p alive, 2 Unseen/2 neuts/1 EK/1 NK. 14 non-king players alive -> 5/14 chance to lynch non-BD at random.

20 - Assassin lynched D2. 15p/14 non-king p alive, 1 outed merc contracted to Prince/1 scumneut/1 NK/3 Unseen. 5/13 or 6/14 chance to lynch non-BD at random.

21 - Assassin lynched D2. 14p/13 non-king p alive, 2 neuts/1 NK/2 Unseen/1 EK. 5/13 chance to lynch non-BD at random.

22 - Chrono lynched D2. 14p/13 non-king p alive, 2 neuts/1 NK/3 Cult. 6/13 chance to lynch non-BD at random.

23 - Maid lynched D2. 14p/13 non-king p alive, 1 neut/2 Unseen/1 NK/1 EK. 4/13 chance to lynch non-BD at random. this is the one where we didn’t kill the outed Assassin

EFoL 3 - Phys lynched D1. 17p/16 non-king p alive, 1 neut/3 Cult/1 NK/1 EK. 5/16 chance to lynch non-BD at random.

NFoL 3 - No-lynch D2. Intended lynched target was in fact BD.

NFoL 4 - CL lynched D2. 12 players/11 non-king p alive, 1 neut/1 neut king/1 NK/1 Cult. 3/12 chance to lynch non-BD at random.

In FoL22 we quicklynched Andrej as Geyde disguised and claimed to have bountied him while he didn’t bother posting at all.

In FoL23 we mislynched Lymph because he wasn’t even playing the game and instead of doing shit he just kept complaining about BD being dumb or w/e.

Basically, most d2 lynches here have been very accurate unless the lynchee played spectacularly terrible.

By that I mean not even playing at all.

Vig guilt is bad and swingy Prince guilt on classes like knight is a great idea disabling all actions but not having two bd deaths is good

Good job

Clicking buttons without knowing what will do?

or… clicking on letters.

I like this idea tbh. Would make the game more forum mafia then. (Remove NK also)

Hasn’t that change been tested? If I recall, there was an EFoL with exactly this change and the scumteam steamrolled it.

It was day 1 lynch

They also didn’t remove the NK, this appears to partially be a suggestion for balancing that idea.

I honestly think KP needs to be nerfed across the board tbh

as talked about, if games are swingy due to it, it needs to take a hit.

Still… why is FoL a lot more swingier than its predecessor?

The state of protectives needs addressed. There are too many and they don’t add much to the game.
Hello new socials, goodbye protectives
