Without a read behind EotW’s accusations, they look like accusations based on the idea that the people pushing are the ones who are evil. The unfortunate part is EotW’s flip regardless of what it is will not draw any associations if they end up flipping groupscum. Ill give EotW credit there as to do a good job not selling anybody out by saying you won’t “help town because they are trying to kill you”, which means you won’t draw associations to yourself.
