[FoL] Forum of Lies 27 - 10 day FoL (2/18) - Blue Dragon win

All players have voted to skip the night. Locking night actions now and sending out feedback.

The sun rises, and you discover that three players are still alive!

@Italy
@Possessed
@Zone_Q11

The tenth day has begun, and will end at 2020-04-23T00:23:00Z, or earlier if a majority is reached for execution.

Welp, zone…

Hey! Shocker.

So I’m a double dunce. I voted Nightskip immediately before I was jailed notification and Arete didn’t count it

Zone played well.

Were all also idiots. Me especially.

The Evil King :crossed_swords: :shield:

Unseen Special
Pass the Torch (Passive) - If you die, a vote to determine the next king will be held at start of the next day.
Head of State (Passive) - Immune to occupation and redirection. Your abilities do not count as visits. You can use both day abilities in the same day.
Grand Trial (Day) - Instantly put a player on trial for treason lasting up to 24 hours possibly extending day. They may provide a defense within 12 hours, and then the players alive may either vote to execute or pardon. If a majority of players vote to execute, the day will end and the player on trial will be lynched. Otherwise, the day will continue as normal. - 1 use
Allies (Day) - Choose up to two players. During this night, you will have a private chat with them. - Infinite Uses
Guard! (Night) - Choose a player. They will be immune to death tonight. - 3 uses :crown:
Your objective is to defeat the Blue Dragon and any neutrals that seek to do you harm.

I knew this game was unwinnable ever since D4. I didn’t lie when Napoleon said to use GT near EOD, but with how active BD was, it was literally impossible for me to delay Alice’s lynch. Hence all I could do was roll with the plan anyways.

I then tried to make Chloe win, but seeing how she was pressured, I asked her: “Are you ready to surrender?” …and I knew that none of us will make it. At that point in time, I gave up “winning” and my objective became “delaying the game as long as possible” and “making people lose their will”.

I kept laughing at how you guys kept worldbuilding for yourselves at D7 though. I managed to at least break DatBird’s will, so even if I have lost, I don’t see this as a total loss.
(Sorry Dat, but… yeah. I am happy about your loss.)

Here is something I want to say as Evil King though:
It's a shame I couldn't "liberate" one of the two physicians who made me immune. His skills will most certainly threaten my comrades in the long run. However, I am certain that I have bought my comrades enough time to either destabilize the kingdom, or at least enough time to make them run. I lost the battle, and maybe "this war", but the Unseen is ALIVE.

Endgame flavor:

Amelia sat quietly at her desk. So many innocents had died – a doctor, a mage, and so many others – and it hadn’t actually helped anything. She thought back to the early days of the court’s proceedings, back when her greatest concern was her survival. When had she decided to betray the Blue Dragon?

Maybe it would be better to turn herself in. They wouldn’t be merciful to her, but perhaps they would at least be willing to spare her family.

“Scribe Amelia?” someone asked. She looked up to see King Zone standing by her desk.

“Your Majesty,” she said, straightening her posture slightly and shuffling her papers. “I didn’t realize you – what can I help you with?”

King Zone frowned. “This is likely my last day alive,” he said, handing her a sealed letter. “Read this tonight.” He paused for a moment. “I trust you to serve this kingdom well, Amelia.”

Amelia swallowed. “Thank you, Your Majesty,” she said.

The three remaining members of the court – the King in his long blue robe, the Prince with his axe, and an older Physician, with his medical satchel – stared at each other in silence. At last, Prince Italy spoke up.

“Shall we do the plan?”

Possessed nodded, holding out his wrists. “Chain me, your highness,” he said.

King Zone arose. “Very well,” he said. “Guards – let it be done.”

Two members of the King’s guard stepped forward. “As you command, Your Majesty,” said one.

“Long live the Unseen,” said the King. “May my sacrifice buy precious time for those of you who still exist outside the castle walls.”

Prince Italy gasped. “It was you?” he asked. “Then how did Marshal die?” He paused. “And how are you saying things that actually make sense?”

“The ways of the Unseen are mysterious,” said King Zone. “Guards?”

One of the guards took his sword and struck three times at the King. The King stumbled, then fell.

The Prince looked around at the remaining functionaries. “Let this be a lesson to those who would stand against the Blue Dragon,” he said. “Our enemies will pay.”

Amelia’s hands shook as she opened the letter.

Dear Amelia,

My associates told me of your sympathy for our cause. I regret that I was not able to do more to help us. It’s up to you now.

She picked up her candle, then, remembering how the Prince had ordered an increase in the number of guard patrols, set it back down. She couldn’t afford to be seen. She slipped out of her room and tiptoed down the hallways, until finally she found the corridor where Jgoes had said to meet her.

“Amelia?” whispered Jgoes’s voice from behind the statue. “Amelia!”

Amelia turned to look at them. They gestured for her to come over to where they were standing. Glancing around her, she made her way to where Jgoes was standing.

“There’s a passageway behind the tapestry,” said Jgoes. “We’ll be able to make it out.”

Amelia nodded and followed Jgoes down the passageway. They walked through the dark corridor for what felt like several minutes, before finally emerging into the outside world.

“So what now?” asked Amelia.

“Now it’s up to us,” said Jgoes. “We’re the ones carrying the legacy of the Unseen. We’re the ones with a chance to make things better for the kingdom.”

Amelia nodded. “At least we have a chance now. The Unseen might have failed, but we won’t. We’ll save this kingdom from the Blue Dragon, or die trying.”
