FoL Interactions

Hi everyone

I’m planning to create a detailed guide to FoL interactions

I would like to address as many as I plausibly can

Please come up with weird hypothetical interactions that could happen so that I can be sure to include them

Thank you

Jailor uses Mercy on another player whilst being attacked bypassing jail.

i don’t think that can happen anymore

but im not the fol nerd arete is

okay this one really bothered me while hosting FoL26

CW Ice Warding and Sellsword Stonewalling the same target

who wins

so weirdly enough I actually asked eevee about this the other day for totally unrelated reasons

the short answer is ‘yes’

yeah okay so basically what you’re trying to say is hope it never happens again, got it

more specifically the answer is ‘both of them will successfully visit, approximately speaking because they prevent the other one from preventing them from visiting’

if you want to try to use ToL logic to make it make sense you can think of it as them having equal priority but that’s not actually the logic being used?

well at least i didn’t moderror :^)

but this is a dumb way to handle it, especially since it’s unwritten

all the ways to handle it are dumb ways to handle it to be fair

i mean yeah i guess thats fair

i spent 20 minutes and delayed start of day because i was so unsure what the heck to do

when visit-preventing Sellsword and visit-preventing Merc were in ToL they would “bounce” if they targeted the same person and they would prevent each other but everyone else would be able to visit

and I’m not convinced that’s an improvement?

Imo Sellsword should always have priority over BD.

Why would that be problematic? If the attack bypasses healing, it’d work, otherwise it wouldn’t.

This actually happened to me with Mercenary/CW too. I said they cancel each other out, so anyone can visit them.

that’s the opposite of what eevee told me

when in doubt have the host flip a coin

i think the “cancelling eachother out” thing is kinda silly personally, but in a situation like this i see the argument

but i agree with possed, i think SS should just beat out the ice ward here

There are plethora of other classes that can also do this. Most notably Demon comes to mind. They should be able to bypass Court Wizard in this way, so it makes more sense in that scenario.

Why though? Ice Ward is a limited use ability. You can also have a Ritualist’ Blood Ward fighting against a Sellsword. Or a Mercenary against a Sellsword. I see no reason for why one should have priority over the other.
