Oi,

With a heavy heart I must bid adieu to this loving community. I have had loads of fun while it lasted. The reason for my departure is an actual departure for a 1.5 month-long trip to Asia to celebrate finishing my Master’s Thesis and my chapter as a student. I did my thesis at a company office and as such, forum games were perfect as a distraction. Over time I fear I might have spend more time on it than I would have liked to however, so that is a possible reason why my absence might be forelonged/permanent. I hope you had fun playing with me, as I did with you and who knows, maybe I’ll return in due time. I’m not leaving until early October, so I’ll still comment here and there until that time possibly.

Im just going to come out and say this. I will be taking a hiatus from the forums for a while.

Starting in a couple days, i will be starting a full-time job, which means im going to have a packed schedule in front of me. While i could probs manage to still be on and play forum matches, I also have a alot of IRL problems atm (I have awful motivation and a form of emotional depression, not a good combo)

Honestly, everyone here has been incredibly nice and they try to be supportive with each other and we always meme and shit. ngl, i had a group of friends i used to play with when i was younger, but some of them didnt like me, and because of that, i haven played with them in over a year. These forums, even thought i have been on for 3-4 months, already the people on these forums have been supportive with each other. I have no Grudge against anyone here, but at times, including during FM, we do say things that can be rather over the top, and we realize that we hurt people, even though we dont mean it. I understand that you need to pressure people who are acting scummy and all, but everyone is different, and some people can take it better than others. All i say, is that people should try to be a little nicer when scum hunting, and the people who are being scum read should realize its just a game and it happens to everyone.

So, at the end of the day, I hate life basically, but i do hope it gets better, not only for myself, but for everyone around me and everyone here on the forums.

However, I wanted to try say something before I left, so I figured here was a good place. By the time anyone checks my profile I assume I’ll have been gone a loooong time.

Anyways. Imma be gone for a while, at least a year or two but likely forever. This place has been a great thing to do alongside travelling and working for a couple of years, but I am moving on now and I think this is a good time to do it. As I know you will all be deeply affected by the leaving of your idol and mentor, I suggest listening to this farewell musicto soften the devastating blow. Imagine me walking away towards the sunset with it on. If you can’t imagine how I look like click on this 100% real image of me irl I promise to find out.

I’d like to thank all of you for being such good sports and making a pretty fucking great community. I don’t spend much time online, this and social media are the only sites I visit, but this place feels very uncarcinogenic (that’s a word fight me). Probably because it’s such a small, close-knit site. To say thank you I have left you a Community Roast FoL. Spoilers: it’s not really a thank you, more of a fuck you.

Fun fact, courtesy of Hippo.inc. I only got into mafia games because my girlfriend at the time loved playing them in real life. I was trash as I always smile when I lie, so I googled “mafia games” to improve and found my way to Town Of Salem which I played for a couple of months. I got bored pretty quick and discovered ToL, still not released yet. After I joined the Discord (first time using it lol) I saw Jammy_Splodge advertising that you could play ToL BEFORE it was released but the forum. I was like whaaat, but was super excited about ToL so joined the first ever FoL.

In retrospect that wasn’t really a fact nor fun but you got baited bitch, live with it.

Playing on a forum with random people was, and still is, kinda odd. But the reason I stayed so long wasn’t because I loved mafia games, like I said I only started playing them because of my then gf lol. It was because the people, and the community here, were so great, funny, and welcoming.

So once again thank you guys for that. You all deserve infinite Hippo respecc tokens.

I may quit the forums for some time after I finish all my games. Lately I’ve been losing my temper too often and becoming a completely toxic jerk towards others to the point that I’m absolutely beginning to hate myself for it.

This isn’t exactly certain, but this is a forewarning in case I go silent.
