“I don’t know…it just…”
Raul signals the driver to stop and he steps out of the car.
Raul starts walking and heads to nearby alley and decides to simply sit there
Raul quickly glimpses Mabel and continues looking down, dropping his gun
He looks at Mabel, quietly saying
“I don’t think I can do this anymore… I’ve been doing this kind of stuff for most of my life, and where has it gotten me? Right here… into an alley…”
( daed )
“I simply can’t do it… I can’t afford to risk your life anymore, it breaks my heart…”
Mabel grabs his face and holds it to her eyes.
“I choose to risk my life when I joined you. If you want me to leave for my own safety then, just say it.”
She is leaning in pretty close.
Raul looks Mabel straight in the eyes
“It’s your choice, but if you want to be with us…I want to be with you…”
He leans even closer
Raul smiles as well and quietly says
“Mabel… I love you…”
Raul does the exact same
(Oh, by the way, Mabel is legally an adult. I changed her age from 17 to 18.)
After 10 minutes of the interraction… Raul stands up, holsters his gun and offers a hand to Mabel
“Come on. Let’s show NYC what we got, love…”
