I need to address something regarding Journal posting

Asking for Journals!

In social deduction games, it’s common to be asked for your Journal, or in some games “will” and often times, people will always have one written up and ready to post it for people to read, and share information. Whether it’s fake or real, there will usually always be one ready.

Posting your Journal into the chat is not against the rules!

Maybe in some games, but not here, not in Throne of Lies.

If this is something that bothers you or annoys you, keep that to yourself… don’t tell people not to do it because of your personal opinion about it. It’s something very commonly used in social deduction games and complaining when someone asks for your Journal really won’t get you far.

With that being said, you don’t need to bring other games in to say “But it’s against the rules there” or “It’s frowned upon there” because simple fact is, I don’t care and neither will anyone else. This is Throne of Lies.

So if it annoys you, deal with it!

I will say this, if you’re Blue Dragon who gets Imprisoned and the Prince asks you for your Journal and you don’t comply, don’t get salty about it when you get executed. It’s your fault for not playing by the Prince.

I know I speak for a lot of people when I say this. Don’t get salty when you’re asked for your journal. Comply or die.

I’ve had to repeat it like, 10 times over the Discord server in the past 2 months, mostly the same person making a big deal out of it and then people seeing that, and then complaining because they’ve been told it’s against the rules.

I will keep on not posting, as the prince is punished just as much for executing a blue dragon. I’ll say what I did on various nights, but i’m not copying/pasting.

In fact, I am more likely to post will in games as unseen/cult. not posting journals is a sign of being evil, but not so much as to execute them on that alone.understand that many players don’t post journals as blue dragon, so it is partly the prince’s responsibility.

I remind you of the kick starter’s video for “2 hours left”: “we wanted to make a role playing game…” and I have played other games called role playing games; not once have I ever posted my private notes, as I would never do that in that situation.

What would I do? I would be to mad at the prince for throwing my in a rat-infested dungeon for no reason and then asking for my private journal or he will kill me.

At that point, I would probably switch to the evil side.

But I don’t do that, because it is a game, but I would like a little bit of that role playing feel.

Obviously if anyone wants to play the game to win they should be expected to post your will upon request by the Prince at least. It is understandable at day if you don’t want to reveal sensitive information/your class, but normally it is advisable to post your will.

Alright for real? You don’t grasp the concept.

If you’re Blue Dragon, who doesn’t post their Journal and ends up executed by Prince, you’re hurting both your chances at winning and Blue Dragons chances at winning, because you’re taking Prince’s exe’s away and losing a member of your team.

“as the prince is punished just as much” - it hurts the entirety of Blue Dragon.

I’d hope you wouldn’t do that since that’d be gamethrowing…

I don’t play ToL to win, I play to have fun. I find it horribly unfun to make fake wills, so I don’t make wills as blue dragon either.
