I REALLY don’t like this role to be honest. It’s pretty much playing a completely different game than everything else, there’s almost no reason for it not to publicly out itself if it’s legitimate, and it’s just ugh.

If I were to suggest a change, give the ghosts some affect outside of this one role. If Professor E. Gadd is alive, these ghosts are pestering the Minions in some way and there’s actually an incentive for this neutral to keep quiet as for Minions not to kill him in lieu of dealing with ghost bullshit. Just a suggestion, and this role will PROBABLY be fine if it stays in the game. It doesn’t break anything, just seems kind of unfun and uninteractive to me. No other players really have an incentive to care about you.

C) By this logic, you’re calling Survivor an effective and fun role, except this role falls even further into Surv syndrome because it’s wincon means literally nothing to any other player. Ghosts DO nothing, and no reason for either faction to care about this role other than “oh it’s a vote from a citizen”

It’s not a contradiction. Town doesn’t want him around early so he shouldn’t claim early for no reason.

However later in the game town might not be able to hang egadd carelessly without risking losing. Hence it is a viable fake claim

Just like alchemist/Inquisitor/scorned he can choose to betray the town at any time. His vote is his own

You aren’t doing nothing. You are hindering the town from finding scum. You can’t win without role blocking town. You also can’t let the game end too early. The dynamic is interesting.

Considering it’s 3 ghosts in 15 people and the start of the game, and you need to find the ghost before capturing them, you are SUCH a minor hindrance, and one that isn’t even specific to town, there is literally no reason to expend resources to kill you if you public claim.

You could add a tangible effect to searching for ghosts, something negative

I don’t think that Egadd even has to be intrinsically anti-town. It’s a role that clearly requires surviving until late-game, I don’t think it should be scum. However, I don’t want it to be almost impactless as well.
