Is being a knight a death sentence?

I was just in a game where, after telling a prince who jailed me night 2 that I’m a knight, he immediately outs me day 3 and everyone basically hangs me then and there.

If this is the way knights are, then this is a useless class, for what is one supposed to do? No one’s going to be waiting for the knight to prove himself via Cold Steel (especially since there might not be anyone suspicious to CS).

So, what, stay quiet and hope no one targets you? Doesn’t sound like a fun idea for a game. Claim something else and lie as Blue Dragon? Doesn’t seem very smart.

So what’s the deal with this class?

You just ran into (sorry for harsh words) idiots. Knight it’s a very good class nonetheless it’s more about that Evils have tendencies to often claim Knight.

Evils often fakeclaim it so everyone thinks “knight? Gotta be evil” but BD suffers here because knight is the strongest BD class balanced well with easily suspicious

Might be powerful in abilities, but if the social norm is to kill knights, then… So what is one supposed to do?

I realize the class is an easy claim for evil factions, but this works against knights in general, as apparent by the scenario I was in. :frowning:

Yup. I had multiple situations where i force pardoned knight claims to save BD

it’s just general nature of the game… fortunately most classes are being made harder to confirm as time goes on. I don’t get why someone would auto exe a knight early game. as prince typically I give a “signal” to knights or phys claims for them to guard/heal me (something like “if I say popcorn then you know who I am and need to protect me”), without telling them that I’ve given anyone else the signal. After I’ve found 2 or 3 of them, I give the signal and see if anyone dies or I’m healed etc…

Bad Advice Below.

I just fakeclaim as Knight since, in the longrun you’ll average living longer which means more oppurtunities to successfully guard and/or coldsteel someone which would eventually get you confirmed. Deathnotes are very key though.

This is variance. You should never be fakeclaiming to the Prince as BD. Just because the Prince made a terrible play doesn’t mean your play was bad.

Do not be results-oriented in this game. Focus on being process-oriented and you will become a better player. Result-oriented players get upset when they killed by Circle of Death from the Sorc even though that night play was optimal and maybe your only chance to win.

Be focused on the process. A huge amount of this game is outside of your control, and you will lose even when you made the best choices possible.

This is good advice to a degree if you can immediately kill yourself the following night. The goal of Knight is to get yourself killed as soon as possible. If you are alive by Day 4, you aren’t CS’ing enough.

I just claim Knight d2 and contribute a lot during the day phase and then put my number on my death note for confirmation. Usually this prevents all but the dumbest of courts from executing me.

So lemme use my phrase again:If you are not cs’ing prince n3 as knight you are not playing knight properly in general i mean.

Funny enough, the more I think about it, the more Captain is actually strangely correct.

Because of the Prince/Scum polar problem, you should be accidentally CS’ing Prince every 11 or 13 games if you scumread well enough.

Well, I actually have same shit but with Alchemist. When you’re trying to kill scum but instead you accidentally killed Prince.
