The only way allies could work would be a royal blood check. Order isn’t killing the class, the lack of scumreading and reliant on investigators is killing the class. They literally lost a four shot faction checker and I think it’s time for them to learn how to play
Wow, learn how to play? thats rude.
King was a flawless Investigator, I agree. but maybe you are being a little bit incorrect with what are you saying.
King was a Leader, King could check by himself AND with the court, Now he lost a Half of his power and got an Ability who is Useless most of the Nights. What do you expect? more fluid games? Investigators getting evil people as fast as it was when Allies existed?
Now the game is slower and ResidentSleeper at some points.
This builds up more experienced players. It was RNG relying on nearly random faction checks from a class that existed every single game.
It’s the truth, the reliance on investigators is so great. Many people don’t think they just follow a lead.
If you have noticed. All of the classes designed to get claims are also incapable of directly verifying them. King should be no exception.
By that I mean:
Prince: He can get claims, Occupy through Immunity and kill through Immunity. None of these give feedback.
Psychic: Can link minds and reveal Information anonymously. No feedback on anything.
Hunter: Can wolf those refusing to claim and Bear if threatened. Bear gives feedback but it’s to say that someone is dead so not important.
I think we agree with that.
My point is: Order is not what King needs
If you dont want Allies, well yea, remove it from the game, but add a good ability who makes the king powerful. Actually the King is a Level 2 Noble With guards.
Well the king would be nobility. Order fits and can be easily used to protect people, evil king can protect cruical classes and good king can time it to wreck shit late game
So, the most important class on the game, The King, has only 1 job: protect people.
Super fun!
Hence my suggestion of making it a Royal Decree/Order combo.
Aka this:
Royal order - Target player cannot vote or be voted the next day and does not count towards majority. (4 uses)
Actually that’s prince btw.
Just thought I would point that out.
It does not break my point, The king has only 1 Job and it is super unfun to play and super unfun also to play against.
Also my royal order suggestion solves the Evil king stall tactics you mentioned earlier. If the target isn’t counted towards majority then the other 2 BD can just vote you anyways.
He has more than one job.
Also phys has protecting people as his one job and phys is fun.
The whisper mule thing is the other job btw.
So you are saying Order needs to be even more Useless (Since somebody voting and lowering needed votes is pointless)
That makes no sense.
Also Phys is fun and only has 1 job, thats right, but thats because the Healing job gives you constant feedback and information no one will know before you. This is not happening with Actual King.
Also whisper mule is not a real job, he is just taking leads, is what i said, One half of the King power when he had Allies, now only has it.
If BD let a starting Evil King live all game without scumreading them it’s a loss of their own creation.
Believe me, It happens. A lot.
That is a valid and interesting job. Especially when lying is an option as evil king.
Also it’s not pointless.
Let N = the number of players in the kings faction counting king.
With order as it is now you can stall when there is N vs N+2 people
However you can reduce N vs N+1 to just NvsN and king wins ties.
With Order also reducing the number of required votes it is as if the player was dead meaning.
NvsN+2 resolves to NvsN+1 which is still loosing but NvsN+1 still resolves to NvsN
Isnt that what noble already does?
