I think I watched over 100 hours of tol before I bought it
So I never was a real newbie 
checking through gdpr let me know that my first game was as physician i believe
i dont remember shit from those days
my first game I was Maid
I got jailed N2 and didn’t know how to talk to the Prince
then when I got out of jail I tried to handle this by whispering to a player who’d named themself PRLNCE

I watched ToL youtube videos for like a year+ before getting the game

I only remember how I managed to do a full whisper-king-meta as good king on my first day
And I was fucking glad I managed to keep the speed

Yes, but on a different level. Like Priestess I didn’t go in completely blind, I’ve watched streamers for a while.
The first game I got Princess and was converted N2 I believe. The next night Unseen killed the King and with old RB, I got to step.
Long story short, MM somehow got found out after D4 and I force pardoned him with Prince alive, which got both of us killed.
I didn’t stick around to watch after that.
