In that instance, I hid a deck of cards beneath the bongo that we inexplicably have, but this time it’ll be a note. If I can keep the wild goose chase going, only to do a trick that while he’s never seen it before is incredibly unimpressive, I think that’d be a reasonable revenge.

I think the logical beginning is I hide one note on the ground beneath the bongo but then shove a letter up near the top of the bongo, and give my initial instructions via phone in such a way that they’ll never see it.
