getting a divorce is traumatic on the kids
and the woman is usually favored
but staying in a relationship with someone you despise will be way worse for you and the kids
It’s not really about divorces being bad, it’s about marriage being stupid, costly and in some cases – quite unfair to one of the parts.

I feel like there are … a lot of circumstances … that could cause this to go badly
it’s not freedom land
it’s nepotism and greed land. both of those principles have always and will always have much more weight here than freedom ever did or will
as my favorite economist, robert reich puts it, it’s crony socialism for those at the top (unlimited governmental bailouts without oversight), and harsh, merciless capitalism for everyone else

you’re right but this is usually to the fault of the irresponsible people who marry too early
execute the child infront of them, then people will stop trying to fight over who gets the child in divorces
