you can see this in one of the photos of my eye (the one that’s cropped out of a larger photo), but not the other (because it was easier to capture the eye if I took off my glasses)
my vision without glasses is terrible, if I take off my glasses while sitting at a table in the dining hall people across the table (as in a few feet away from me) stop looking like they have faces and start just having vague flesh-colored blobs

i’ve woken up, and it looks like we’re getting near the bit of the course where we’re discussing the British Union of Fascists, and suddenly I’m glad I’m not going to be in the same room as our history class’s regular fascist sympathisers.

That’s a more elaborate explanation than I expected.
I also relate to the final paragraph hardcore. I have -8/-7 vision deficiency (left/right eye respectively). I wear contact lenses, but I’ve had to wear glasses for over a decade.
