Like Basilio even fits the axe user role, i just dont get their choice. Anna (who they have but a different version), Sahri (honestly the most forgettable character on like all of awakenings cast), Mustafa (a general for one chapter that is litterally like we have to fight or our king will kill our families, sure u feel for the dude but like why him?), and some fairy from their own narritive, its like such a huh moment banner

Hes right back at ya

im not playing or spectating botf3, and will def mute the thread

Tbh i should probably stay away from clocktower as a game format for good (i just left their discord after some thought)
as shown by botf 2, it isn’t good for my health. At all

The fact that i’ve read 300+ issues of hellblazer means that sort of occult idealogy is burned into my brain. That’s what really caused my outbursts in botf 2 (and what also makes good losses feel horrific to me)

if anyone wants further explanation on what i mean here, feel free to inquire

you… seem like you want to say something
why don’t you say it
here’s my formal inquiry i guess

You think too much

clocktower is a fun game but to the best of my knowledge there is no cure to this condition so that’s what it is

it’s not that easy. let me explain

I think you’re blaming stress that comes from fear of losing on some other condition

wrong
losing as good feels unspeakably painful to me
i assure you it has nothing to do with losing

It’s just a lot more weird if reason was something else

Because you’ve faced similar stresses from other games

i assure you nothing that felt remotely like this as a result of losing the game

But the flavor was extremely tame

so like
my favorite superhero is john constantine
i’ve read close to 300 issues of his signature comic series, hellblazer
each issue definitely takes at least 90 minutes to read, but some can take 2-3 hours on the long end

i’ve also seen his whole nbc show from 2015, every episode he was in in legends of tomorrow / crisis on infinite earths on the cw, his two animated movies (justice league dark & justice league dark: apokolips war, there’s probably more than this. Definitely multiple thousands of hours on this character’s lore, at the least.

if you’re unfamiliar with who john constantine is as a character, he’s this english bloke who indirectly let a little girl’s soul get damned when he was in a rock band. the only chance he has to avoid self-damnation is, well, to send as many demons as possible that he can back to hell. he has occult / arcane powers that help him do this.

every foe john faces is incredibly evil and vile. like i said this sort of mindset and idealogy has been engrained into my brain after thousands of hours.

that’s basically why i feel unspeakably bad when i lose as good in clocktower, and still feel at least a good amount bad when i win as evil

How does inverse feel
Winning as evil

read the above message
im hopeless but to associate it with the above at all times
since the word “demon” is canon to the game

i dont really think this is the case in any other game i’ve played

bud, i think u just gotta just seperate fiction from other fiction. Like its a game, theres not john constatine in BOTF. Like i get it ur a big DC fan, but demon doesnt 100% mean DC character

DND Pathfinder. Are u gonna stop playing those
