Total power move; attack yourself to spite the host after they convert you to compensate for a moderror

Whats a normal compensation? I think I’ve seen this happening only once, and host gave scum team in a closed setup a charge of an ability more

in a multiball like FoL “compensation” for a moderror does not really work that well

and so if it’s enough of a moderror game might have to just end or call effected faction(s) no-contest if they lose.

Haven’t really seen it in any other games

examples I’ve seen off the top of my head:

  • a cohost accidentally said something in the game thread that spewed a particular player (who was getting force-replaced out) as town, the main host modkilled that slot and in exchange the scumteam couldn’t use their claimvig that day (they consulted with the scumteam on this)
  • host accidentally processed a flip slightly wrong (they flipped the correct player, but as a different player’s role), in a way that confirmed to both factions that the role was in the set-up; that host compensated the scumteam by giving them a 1-shot rolecop action

and yeah, it depends on the severity of the moderror

if you moderror by, like, forgetting to give someone their night results, you can solve this by … giving them their night results

Often moderrors wont get detected during the game anyways
Like the typical “the player should have died to my attack, but we won anyways so w/e”

well there was a moderror in sfol 56 grande idea where SDA posted something meant for spec-chat in a neighborhood

and we solved this by force-replacing one of the players out (he requested that he be replaced out anyways) and just telling the other one to not talk about it

Zone shoulda died to my strongman factional ):

something something revive flipped scum after processing night actions wrong

and yeah, like Marshal alluded to, moderrors/game integrity issues that affect a single slot only can sometimes be solved by force-replacing that slot (obviously this depends on circumstances)

I was recently in a mountainous game where they flipped the wrong player somehow

game was still won by mafia so it didn’t matter but that was kinda ???

and yes, handling a scum incorrectly dying and flipping scum by reviving them and doing nothing else whatsoever is … kind of dumb

this is why cohosts are good

2 people to look over night actions = less likely moderrors

remember that one time i accidentally killed wazza but the host forgot to process it? :upside_down_face:

Having a second pair of eyes is good while driving, same for hosting games.

I prefer 2 second pairs
especially since you can teach people hosting by this

Apparently BD alchs aren’t too popular in ToL. Refer to ToL discord on ToL Pic screens.

this is why i will never run a game without a co-host after sfol 57

BD Alch?
Do you mean BD-siding Alch or fol Alch
