Because it’s amusing in a weird way.
You are NK so you can forge temporary alliances and help out majority if you feel like scum is getting out of hand.
Or you can help scum if one or more of their members are found early on.

I’m just a fan of this fragile partnership between factions that have to kill each other.
Same thing as faking scum King in ToL to get groupscum to out to you, or force pardoning NK because you need the KP to weed them out.
