Legends of Merathia (A D&D campaign)[Chapter Six: Manhunt]

now everyone pulls a map out and points to illima

I say we travel along the illemaed Sea to illima. I have a way for us to get a boat

we may learn more about Temper on the seas

Valyria says nothing but just leans against a wall watching the rest

Grimm looks very seriously at the group. “Maledith. You are very strong! Your greataxe could shatter a stone wall! Valyria, Val and Nysia! All 'ze magic 'zat you wield is mighty and fearsome! And Rina! Your prowess with a rapier is sublime! And not to mention your voice is 'ze most lovely I have ever heard.”
He pulls out a small scroll. “I’m headed in that direction, Val. But 'ze task before me is a dangerous one. I’ve been tasked with defeating a horde of monsters 'zat has overrun a temple near Illima. I need help, and you all seem like 'vunderful allies! Any treasures taken by 'ze monsters at 'ze temple are ours if we can recover them. We can split the gold equally as payment.”

(For Grimm)

Maledith looks at Grimm and says

“I care not for loot, but for glory! Will there be worthy opponents?”

“Of course my friend! Monsters 'zat overrun an entire temple? It was not guarded lightly.”

Maledith smiles

“Then I, Maledith “Strongeye” of clan Shitha-Pelthik will join you. You have my axe.”

who was this temple’s god?

“I am not sure. I was just given it’s location and was tasked with 'ze “purification” of the monsters within. I didn’t think to ask of it’s deity.” Grim scratches the back of his head embarassed. (Grim isn’t too intelligent or wise, kek.)

Smiling, he looks eagerly at Val, Nysia, Rina and Valyria like an excited puppy. “Well? What say the rest of you?”

Valyria shrugs

Whatever.

is everyone fine with this plan?

“The elders will protect us. I’m down.”

"Hmm… Will that be a good deed or a bad deed? I want to balance both so I can look good. "

“It’s a job! You can do whatever kind of deeds you wish.” Grimm chuckles.

Rina is thinking hard. Which is difficult for her

“It’s a temple. A temple is the house of god. God is good. So doing crime there is a crime.”

She bites her lower lip. A habit she develops when she tries to use her brain.

“But there is good god and bad god. Mom told me good and bad are only people’s view, so a good god is bad from the view of other gods.”

Her face brightens.

“Then it means all temples are owned by heretic gods! Robbing them is a good deed! I’m in!”

Grim tilts his head, confused.

“I… don’t understand. But hooray!” Grimm cheers.
He looks to Nysia. “And what of you? Do you wish to join us? We could very much use someone with magical prowess such as yourself.”

“I have nothing better to do ssso why not? There’s nothing here for me anywaysss”

“Hmm… Ilima, that’s quite far.”
