Actually, giving the MM the ability to read all whispers but not who sent them probably wouldn’t be too bad.
I dunno if it’d solve the problem.
As for whispers in general bring anonymous, that’d be interesting.

The goal of this thread is to try and find a middle ground. Not to remove whispers entirely or make them unusable.
Having an almost guaranteed class that could hear all whispers would be bad. Maybe aristocrat could have it instead?
Making them anonymous wouldn’t make them unusbale.
So My Idea in one Post
-Whispers are now 100% anonymous, nobody expect the one being whispered to is informed of it
-Psychic and MM gain “NAME NEEDED” allowing them to read whispers and who they were sent too but not the sender (Maybe we can replace Call of the dead )
It wouldn’t. I didn’t say it was a bad idea.
Anonymous whispers are interesting
Then you can fake whisper claim as somebody else.
Scorned and Fool would be so op lmao
Everybody whisper me your number, claim, and a codeword, then say your word.
“1 Prince Apple”
“15 Psychic Red”
1 - “Apple”
“6 Knight Car”
6 - “Car”
15 - “Red”
Maybe his unstoppable passive could be replaced with a one-time night immunity. This would make him less swingy and give evils counterplay to him. His amount of executes could also be reduced.
I would be fine with giving an evil an ability to hear whispers, but not illusionist. Illusionist already has a good amount of abilities. Maybe it could be given to aristocrat instead?
If anything it should be given to Noble. A class shouldn’t have a better ability than another class in the same faction. Plus psychic already has several unrelated abilities.
Mastermind also shouldn’t have it, a guaranteed class having it would make whispering too risky. The point of this thread is to find a way to discourage whispers, not making them useless.
I’d prefer an alternate solution. Giving an OP class immunity is not a good answer.
What I would do is make Imprison a Psychic link, and then rework Psychic into something else.
Can you make another thread talking about prince rebalences please? I don’t want it cluttering this one.
The thing is, IT ISN’T GUARNETEERED, Psycic or Noble should def hhave it along with masterminds. Otherwise psy/noble tests will become a thing
It’s almost guaranteed though, there’s a 50/50 chance of there being one. Noble should have it instead of psychic, otherwise psychic would become a better noble. The only real advantage noble would have is snoop
“Almost guaranteed” 50/50 chance of spawning and I think there is some weighting against cult so for the purposes of this argument lets act as if there is a weight in Unseen’s favor making it 60/40 still, not guaranteed. This gives you more motivation to scumhunt, lynch scum, and be more CAREFUL with your whipshers, maybe MM could see the sender and recipant but not the message while psy/noble could. I thought it would fit better on psychic as she would have magic hearing stuff
Until they make it harder to distinguish between a Cult game and an Unseen game it would be better to think of Cult and Unseen games as 2 separate entity’s.
IE MM is in 100% of Unseen games. Therefor in an unseen game people will know there is a MM.
Same with CL in a Cult game.
This used to be true for the NK as well but now isn’t because it is much harder to tell what the NK is now.
AKA: In order for the TECHNICALLY true statement about him being in only 50% of games to matter you need to make it much harder to figure out what faction is active or not.
Hold up. You can’t take them out of the probability, because their positions are not known. An attempt to convert one of them might be made and fail, so they need to be included. Put another way, they’re still part of the target set.
As NightX said, you’d use as many whispers as you could to fill the king’s log with misinfo.
“1 Prince Apple” then may have 2 CCs:
“1 Alch tornado”
“1 CW muffins”
etc
Not if the person says the codeword aloud
What you describe there, Orange, is a rule-breaking meta game. It reveals information that the character should not have access to, the moment they say the code word aloud.
