THE POINT OF BD KILLING IS TO LEAD!!! Saying he is a killer is like agreeing with me. This is the reason I think that knight killing his target AND himself when he hits BD would actually be a buff.
Since when did we switch Ritualist and Acolyte?
And describe your definition of boring please?
Boring: There is an insufficient combination of apparent impact and meaningful choices allowed by the classes abilityâs.
Idk man
@3DT_CheesyKnives thought the names were more fitting. And I agreed.
Knightâs a killer, does he lead the game? No, he protects the BD and kills threats that would attack them. Sacrifice protects, Cold Steel brings the fight to them.
Prince gets claims, and can than kill anyone who has a contradictory claim.
Hunter, on the other hand, kills evils by baiting them, removing threats like Knight defending himself instead of someone else, and Wolf is like Cold Steel. Retribution is just another baiting power.
ABSOLUTELY! Have you ever seen a game with a confirmed knight? Once he starts to lead IT IS SCARY. This is because killing power gives you some thing besides the kill itself: Leverage. âWhy should I claim to you?â âI have I knife and will stab you if you donâtâ. After all if you know who the evil is as BD you do not need a night kill, you can just tell everyone and have them lynched.
And Prince is widely considered the leader of BD.
If you are playing Hunter to bait people then you are missing the point. You should be trying to lead with him not be a decoy. Remember that the team with control of the leader usually wins. What does retribution really do? It makes confirming yourself and defending yourself from accusations not your priority. Instead you can just focus on getting claims out of people and using those claims to out evils because if someone accuses you then you can simply arrow them and take the 1for1.
I have certainly never seen this. It certainly isnât much leverage since everything about Knight is suicidal. Sacrifice can kill you. Cold Steel kills you if you are wrong.
I do agree there.
If it is the point, it shouldnât be. With have all sorts of other classes for that.
Like what? Psychic doesnât have the effect of making Leaders a risky target, King is labeled so he doesnât have that effect either. Knight comes close but he isnât as obvious as the Hunter is as you rarely see a Sheriff baiting in attacks so the knight can guard him.
The reason why Hunter SHOULD have that purpose is because of the ripple effect that has.
No hunter:
Scum: Joe is trying to take charge and demand claims. Lets kill/convert him.
Joe: If I speak up and play aggressive I will be killed/converted. I think Iâll keep quiet for now.
Hunter:
Scum: Joe is trying to take charge and demand claims. He is probably hunter.
Joe: If I speak up they might think I am hunter. I think Iâll do that.
Scum: We need to stop this. ASSASSIN! TRY AND TAKE CHARGE YOURSELF!
I prefer the interaction that includes the hunter as a thing more.
Okay, you got me.
But I guess I just feel that having a safety net ability just doesnât help the game. You either make smart choices or dumb ones. And you should be rewarding for making smart choices and punished for making dumb ones.
Got any better ideas that are A: Not good for confirming, B: Not boring and C: Fit the concept of the class?
Hunter can still serve this purpose with one less bear and no Retribution. Still has the defense and the attack leverage.
Ok this can go if he is not unique. Personally I think it should go on knight instead.
However. You need to realize that there needs to be enough of them for it to seriously effect the play style of the average hunter and cause that ripple effect I was talking about. Sure you CAN lead with only 2 bears but its needs to be ASSUMED that you will lead AND that you are probably bearing on any given night. After all the point is to make Unseen/Cult not target leaders immediately. This was the reason why it was upped to 3 in the first place.
Lets put it this way: How likely would you expect it to be for a hunter to be dangerous at any given moment.
Most Hunters tend to bear either every other night or every once every 3 nights.
2 bears every other night: You are dangerous until N4
2 bears every third night: You are dangerous until N6
3 bears every other night: You are dangerous until N6
3 bears every third night: You are dangerous until N9
that means that with 2 bears on average a Hunter is harmless past N5. With 3 bears however its until N7-N8! This is important because that is about the time when a winner is about to become clear and it is no longer just about who is leader and gathering information. That means that with 3 bears the Unseen/Cult have good reason to maintain their paranoia for the exact duration that it matters at all. 2 however means that they can safely eliminate a Hunter while he is still needed to be a threat to do his job.
Note that 3 is also BLEARILY enough which means that you cannot be careless with them. This makes bear usage still require skill to use.
Edit: Pointing out that you can just save your bears is missing the point. The idea is to make leaders in general risky targets throughout so that you instead need to challenge them openly. Not to make a specific hunter player dangerous.
Okay, I do see your point. Iâll add back bear number 3. Removing of Retribution is enough to be allowed to be non unique.
On a (mostly) unrelated point consider giving it to Knight? And also change the conditions for CS suicide to âIf you would Kill a BDâ. That way an evil who was CSed but survived has a possible Defence and a knight who is debauched doesnât suicide (it also gives debauched killers a Defence)
I actually do like that idea. The Knightâs whole theme is sacrifice, so it is a fitting ability.
Iâd like more feedback before I do that, though.
Hereâs my Noble Idea from what we got.
Have Overtime be 2 Uses at night
Political Pressure as 4 Uses
Noble Twin as 4 Uses
Then I feel that having unlimited Bounty would be alright on a Noble.
The point is that he should shine as a class who manipulates the votes during the day, so increasing the use of PP and NT by twice the original amount would do really well. This way, people donât save them just to confirm, (as is what happens almost all days with PP and NT)
It prefer to keep overtime at one use but otherwise as long as the Aristocrat get his uses upped too and Apostle get 3 uses of mind control im ok with this.
Also NT was changed to be very difficult to be used to prove on purpose.
I like 1 use because otherwise it makes it easier to confirm. With 1 use, you really have to be careful about using it.
How come weâre the ones posting? It makes me sad weâre not getting other feedback.
