Merc is far too powerful when contacted to Cult/Unseen

Ah that is interesting. If the Prince claiming early-meta isn’t as prevalent as a lot of people think, I think reverting the mercenary back to a form where he has 2 contracts to individuals is even more viable.

That would just revive it, since there are less way to counter Merc’s Stand Guard

I think the biggest issue with the Merc is balancing it so that is beneficial to all factions, but not too strong, which isn’t exactly the easiest thing to do.

We could split up the Merc into an Anti-BD version and an Anti-Unseen/Cult version.

Have Mercenary be Anti-Evil and revive Sellsword as the anti-BD.

What would you do about neutral then?

Not have one that’s pure Neutral.

I mean right now a Merc can only be contract to and Alchemist, Inquisitor, Reaper, or Sorcerer

What would a pure Neutral one even do?

That’s fair. I think no neutral is fine.

I think the only issue there is executing merc for her class alone. That could potentially out their faction.

That would also mean the merc would need to be converted with their contact.

Well things would obviously need adjusted.

TBH. It sounds like me that what you are suggesting is to make Mercenary just straight up not be neutral at all. That wouldn’t be too big of a problem I guess but it’s something to think about.

There is such thing as an informed townie in FM so there is precedent for giving a BD another mod confirmed BD D1 if that is needed.

Her original goal was pure neutral actually since even if she have BD as contract it doesn’t mean she need to make sure his contract will win as well. :man_shrugging: technically that is.

Not what he meant.

I’ve already gone over the countless problems that people have abused in the original system.

Just saying.

Merc to do list

  • Make Merc BD Informed townie
  • Make Sellsword a New Anti-BD Neut
  • Balence both of them accordingly
  • ???
  • Profit

That sound about right?

Not sure if they’d be an informed townie

Just let them know all the evils

It will be Finnnnee…

Mercenary

Blue Dragon Support
Passive: Contracted - You are contracted to another Blue Dragon. If they die your ability’s will be disabled

Night Ability: Stand guard - Prevent visits to the contracted player. (4 uses)

Sellsword

Neutral Support
Passive: Connections - You appear to be a Mercenary to investigative ability’s. If you die you will flip Mercenary. You know who the Unseen/Cult are.

Night Ability: Stonewall - Prevent visits to target Unseen/Cult. You will be night immune tonight. (4 uses)

goal: Blue Dragon loses or Unseen/Cult wins

Something along these lines?

Probably with some extra ability’s to make it more interesting.

Unseen not neut!
