Merc is far too powerful when contacted to Cult/Unseen

He has literally 0 mechanical similarity’s to the other unseen games.

He: Spawns on his own. Doesn’t meet with unseen. Also can exist with cult.

Can he get converted then?

Ima say that if he or his contract would be converted (unless he’s stopping it) then he becomes a sellsword.

They’re both supposed to be Neutral.

Ok but I have the right idea right?

Also at that point why NOT just make him BD?

If they know they are contracted to BD/Evil, they practically are that faction.

Well sellsword matter’s because the information is 1 way and also it matter’s for conversion, communication, promotion ect.

Merc doesn’t really matter however.

It’s because they should be on a neutral spot, not a bd spot.

Rebound ~ ‘Shock’ all players visiting your contract (bypass redirection immunity)
1 use

Just feels a bit more skill expressive than current rebound

For those who don’t play FoL, shock redirects a player to target themselves

Here’s another idea

Protector(Passive) - If your target would die at night then you will die instead. Immune to redirection. You may not accuse your target of treason, and will always be forced to pardon them. Your vote for pardon will count as two when pardoning.

Keeping in contract(Passive)- You will always know your targets exact class. You will be able to talk with them in a separate chat. You will keep this passive even if your class changes.

SafeGuard(night)(3 use) - Prevent anyone from targeting your contract. Tells you their visitors.

Stand guard(night)(1 use) - Same as rebound, just renamed.
Recharge(day)(1 use) - restore one use of each of your target’s limited use abilities.

I know that this is a bit confirmable, but merc should be confirmed to their target. This will allow them to work together. Also, the latest changes should be removed.

This class feels way too adjusted on unseen/cult. I’d like something may see the bd’s demise. So it is not like an auto extra unseen/cult member. This gives the class a chance to side with nk

But then we couldn’t give them the names of the unseen.

Why not just keep him tied to one member of the cult/unseen? That way when they spawn and see they’re a sellsword, they know they’re paired to an evil faction, and can adjust their play from there. This also keeps the balance of Merc being a -2 to the faction, so the Merc doesn’t create too much imbalance. However with lack of force pardon, it might not be that bad.

This BD and evil merc could also always spawn together possibly if balance is such a concern.

Lynch all mercs you mean.

If one is good lynch the other

Yeah, or fakeclaim something else like almost every single scum class…

The BD merc has no reason to lie. Then you automatically have a proven person.

Should you cc his merc claim you lynch one then get executed

So the general idea would be something like this. This is just an extremely rough draft of the classes. The Sellsword would be able to claim Merc or Butler, each with it’s own drawbacks. Both Merc and SS could win with Neutrals.

They don’t need to survive to win. If they needed to, then they’d need some survivability, which isn’t necessarily something we’d want.

Mercenary - Neutral Support:

Passive: Occupation & redirection immune

Night Ability: Prevent visitors to a player. Unlimited uses, but cannot target same player two nights in a row. Will not be night immune.

Night Ability: Something

Objective: See the Unseen or Cult defeated.

Sellsword - Neutral Offensive:

Passive: Occupation & redirection immune

Night Ability: Prevent non-attacking visitors to a player. Unlimited uses, but cannot target same player two nights in a row. Will not be night immune.

Night Ability: Occupy a player. Unlimited uses.

Objective: See the Blue Dragon Defeated
