Merc rework (with contract)

              •Mercenary

Passive 1: extra files - know your contracts exact class at the beginning of everyday. You may not vote up your target and you must always vote pardon on your contract. You may not kill your target either.

Passive 2: finishing what i started - if your contract dies then you will commit suicide in two days unless you kill your contracts killer.(If you do manage to kill your contracts killer then your “stand guard” ability will be refilled)

Day ability 1: Contract - select a player to contract. If you don’t contract someone in the first 3 days then you will randomly be given a contract. You cannot contract any unique classes, only exceptions are CL and Assassin, they can be contracted. If you attempt contracting a unique player then you will get a message saying you can’t

Day ability 2 : paying attention - know who visits your contract tonight [4 uses]

Night ability 1: stand guard - prevent all visitors from you and your contract, if your contract is jailed then the prince cannot exe that night. [4 uses]

Night ability 2: revenge - attack a player that accused your target, if your first contract dies then you can kill anyone. (if you manage to kill your contracts killer then you will be randomly given a new non-unique contract, can only be reassigned a new contract once) [2 uses]

Win con - have 1 of your contracts survive until the end of the game

Notes: this new mercenary allows you to pick a contract of your choice in 3 days. Allowing the player to get a feel of the players before contracting. Not being able to contract prince was my main goal because then prince would out every game. If your contract does die then you have two days to redeem yourself by killing your contracts killer. This can seem hard but with your day ability 2, you can get a better idea on who it is. Now you might think that this is heavily favor to BD because most of the time your target will die to cult or unseen but if a knight, hunter or even a poss controlling someone then you have to kill them to redeem yourself. If you successfully do kill them then you will be rewarded a random non-unique target as your contract. The RNG new target is a punishment and reward for when your contract dies.

problem I read the first passive and it’s already confirmable.

It’s meant for that. You can also claim merc to one of your allies on an evil faction. Being confirmable isn’t a problem. You also didn’t mention anything about the rest of the class

the idee of redeeming yourself is great only if hes killed bye a neutral killer your most likely screwed and prehaps change back the stand guard to 3 uses and let the prince do his thing he must be good at what he does but currently he feels a little too good i can just see healers outing themself just to get 4 safe nights and using revenge feels a bit culmsy if your contract is not death prehaps make it so you can only use it if your contract is killed or that its charges are refreshed if he does so i only have 1 question left what hapens if some 1 else kills your targets killer do you just die or is it enough to let you life

Did you just say allow the prince to do what he does?

He literally is a better knight mystic merc and butler. Literally let this be.

If anything make prince not occupy immune, as he doesn’t need it like knight doesn’t need it.

well i ment removing the exucute preveting part of stand guard and that passive is moistly there to prevent some 1 from preventing his exucutes since they should be a final decision but you could remove it ofcourse only a servant would be a very wanted addition to the unseen and i am sure those exucutes on cult leader wont go trough a lot of time when prince is outed then so i dont think it will be wise to remove his occupy immunity

I mean it’s the same thing with knight though.

yeah only stopping an exucute is far more likely to hapen because the cult and the unseen are aware that one of there members is missing in the night chat and that he is jailed if they think they need to stop him from exucuting they will send in a occupy to do so since a lot of times prince out and there is not much that protects some 1 from being occupied knights wont take place heals wont help so it kinda feels klunky to remove it besides wich knight claims life long enough to cs reguarly unseen wants them for frenzy and bd exucute them most of the time cus there knights and there logs are bad because they cant prove that they are knight but thats something for another post

aldo i must say its for the unseen not common to have a occupy ready and set to go

Yeah but occupying the knight is the same and, there is no counter play to prince and there is to knight.

it still allows for counter play.

thats the point of the prince he is the bd’s ace in reserve depending on the other bd members to protect him he should be stronger then most of the other classes of the bd because he was ment to be just that aldo i do say it should be a easier to kill a outed prince being protected or to atleast kill the ones protecting him

But every class should have a thing you can do to counterplay it

I agree to this but the counter to prince might not be countering the prince himself but countering those around him strip him of his pschycians, knights and a possible good king and whats left to apose the evil a class wich falls as easy as all others

It does counter himself and imagine this.

Knight outs day one, and everyone protects him. Don’t question why they do it it’s for my example. Literally the counter play is to occupy him. You don’t need to kill the protectives.

Also the counter counter play to occupying prince is for a observer to follow prince

there is only one problem to this like 2 to 3 person visit prince each night healing or protecting him how would you know for sure whos occupying him he could claim idk knight prehaps or pschyian on a bad day

So? It’s still a counter play.
You get a list of suspects

Literally you are putting one of them as evil.

It’s better then getting NO suspects, and counter play isn’t meant to be 100%
