I’m just explaining why the old Merc could have appeared to work even when it didn’t
Probably because it’s low priority. And because people are asking for a total revert/rework instead
I wouldn’t say that this is low priority. Some people might tho. If merc appeared like it was working then that must meet something there was working.
I’m guessing Boslof would.
That’s because you were not doing the things that made the class problematic. The problem was with the players using the class moreso than the class itself
Would be cool if Mercenary got a private chat with there contract if they ever brought back old merc
Also Sellsword is really fun for me right now I just hate getting Mercenary
What’s wrong with it? The current win con is too easy.
True, but the win con of both sellsword and mercenary are too easy. I’m fine with factions having to survive to win, but they’re not neutral.
The contract system wasn’t bad as people said, they just kept making a wrong version.
Like what?
Why though? Mercenary is support, not investigative. And the main problem with merc is his win con.
What’s wrong with shield?
So that he knows if he does anything.
It’s boring
Right now the Mercenary can have made the most impactful plays in the game and stopped every kill and conversion but he would never know
I really dislike stand guard. Preventing all visitors even if it’s helpful. I guess my main issue is I used to love merc, it being my favorite class that got turned onto what it is now(aka trash). Another main issue I have is that it’s a neutral class that relies on a main faction to help it win.
Dude, this is a great idea!
Soon I’ll make a merc rework class and I want to use your idea. If that’s okay
RIP fakeclaiming Merc
Turns out it’s really bad.
it’s not
Ya don’t really need Mercenary as a fake claim because your contract can be anything but this of course is only if merc would be unconvertable
The less hard confirmable classes, the better.
Losing because of bad BD is one thing, but losing because of a single player’s actions feels a lot worse. Your winrate is tied to a single player instead of a team of 8-9 players. There is no single decision that BD can make that causes a loss. Mistakes are remedied by successes and with so many minds working towards your win, you have a lot of lee-way.
The implied volatility of a Merc’s winrate would skyrocket if they relied on a single person to win.
Again even if you lose early on then just wait to join another game.
“Just join a new game for when you lose” does not make players feel better that their target screwed up royally.
Especially if the screw up is N5 and not N1
Rework merc
need 6 brilders to win ,
reduce the preventing a death with shield from 3 to 2.
Lame. Too easy
Idea! Make Don Armor Reflexive!
