On the very first night, yes the Grandmother and Godfather are information gathering so the Sailor and Courtier could make them malfunction. However, using your ability like that as Courtier is probably bad and Sailor is up to mod discretion on whether they malfunction themselves of their target. Iā€™ve seen Grandmotherā€™s malfunction from Sailors N1 but never a Godfather

I might be dumb, but I canā€™t see a difference. Tea Lady checks if the first players above them and below them that are still alive are good or not. If both are good they are both immune to any form of death (other than getting stabbed by an Assassin)
