easy change:
make spurious combat long and somewhat difficult. such that if both sides start on equal footing, besides one person having the better stats, that depending on skill and strategy, the person with the higher stats wouldnt be able to win all the time. like maybe 75% win chance max. certainly not guaranteed.
this discourages just killing anyone you run into. no direct penalty for doing so, you just will most likely not survive 4-6 one on one battles in a row, let alone if your facing two people.
in exchange, make premeditated killings much more decisive.
this promotes plots and plans, and some strategic groupings on the goodā€™s side

well, easy in theory at least

i know how you can hide which room a particular person is in if you dont already have an idea as to how to do that

Combat doesnā€™t have to be long, and surprise and traps should be incorporated well. But most ā€˜goodā€™ people arenā€™t usually of an attitude ā€˜Shoot them all and let God sort them outā€™

well yes. by good i mean good at combat. which is kinda a different ball game to being good at the game in general.
personally im not that good at combat, but id say im pretty good at games like this over all.

but yeah. if the other person is decent at combat, then it shouldnt be a sure thing on the other personā€™s end, regardless of stats. if it was a cleverly designed scenario, then they should definitely pull ahead.
this means that gunning down everyone you come across just isnt possible. you will inevitably fail if you just start the game and start gunning.

as well, drawn out combat makes players feel more like their skill had a play in it, and that things werenā€™t just instant and theyā€™re dead, without them getting a chance to fight back

I meant alignment good, which should be at least half the players imo

oh, well in that case, yeah.
strategic groupings on their side
who goes with whom, to hopefully ensure no one is killed

They shouldnā€™t have the ability to yolo kill people either.

meh. if they go through the effort of setting up a trap of some sort, then they should be.
but not spurious things. what im suggesting in general makes opportunistic murder more difficult and less consistent

I had healed up actually.

also fwiw

I disagree people saying that neut in general is a boring class to play as

Usually that mindset might be thought of in FM but trying to escape at all costs is still super fun even if you donā€™t have a different wincondition that you have to do.

Iā€™d be happy to rand neut again

I know, which is why I said ā€œat some pointā€.

Yeah same.
Iā€™d change my strat though.

I was originally planning to escape alone, like Marshal did.
Then I revised it to killing Marshal and Simon and leaving Nitro behind.
Then I changed it to escape with Marshal and leave the other two behind.
Lol.

Except when I was on low health, it was my turn in combat.
I just delayed until discussion came.

Marshal did the best play, given the circumstances.
Gg.

sorry for betraying you btw

I just had to take my chance and I was always going to play for myself - my past actions made that kind of obvious lol

Nah itā€™s fine.
Just know that I did want to ally with you to the end after that discussion in Ambidex.
I wanted to work with Simon early on, but when you said he was evil I ditched that plan.
I only wanted to use Nitro.

I had Moleland + Mist pinned down as evil, and I was coming after Simon because I thought he killed TL.
God damn it.
Ah, it was fun anyway.

kyo killing mist was ultra gamer
