The way to balance is to ensure everyone’s wincon has at least one player who directky opposes it, so no one can just say “I’m survivor. Ignore me so I can freelo”

personally im completely fine with the claiming rules
because then people dont ask me to claim a wincon and force me to fake claim.
id rather just reveal whatever i need to at that time. and i can do that just fine despite the rules.
Outrighting asking is dumb, especially in public since everyone can just say “Kill all murderers” or “Kill all evils” etc.
The skill is forming alliances and figuring out who you can trust.
because, to me it doesnt really matter whether theres someone whose wincon directly opposes my own or not.
because that really isnt the biggest factor until the endgame
Like I’m trying to say it forces every evil to lone wolf as you have no idea if you can win with anybody else.
granted, it does force some of the evils early, as they need to act for chaos as things going according to plan make their wincon harder, but i think i could have managed regardless
