it’s less interesting for everyone. Especially for Merc who is at his best when his goals conflict with the majority’s (not accomplished with needing 6 bridlers but I’ve been pushing to bring it back up to 8 for a reason). Alchs less so but it’s still more interesting when they fake claim or at least try and be incognito.
Unseen and cult would be at a huge loss if they lost one of their members early on
and?
And we don’t need to encourage yolo killing. Smite had(and has) the same problem
smite is a counter attack. In this context it is comparable to defend rather than CS. Say what you want about it but it’s not relevant to this discussion
They do have the same issue of yoloing being a problem though, which is why I used it. Smite was nerfed because people would yolo with it and kill the CL early on. CS would have the same problem.
CS has the opposite problem. Defend is the one with the problem you are talking about
Coldsteeling D1 alch claims would still be a legitimate play since many non-immune evils fake-claim Alchemist.
First of all I doubt it. Second of all that just further encourages D1 alch claims
Doubt what?
it
Assassin, either of the starting Cult, and Reaper sometimes claim Alch
No room for doubt here
and yet I remain unconvinced
quite incredible you’ve never played a single game where that happened
and you think that only a single game is required to prove your point? Unlike with some kinds of arguments we are trying to prove that something is a viable option in enough cases that it improves the game, not that it can sometimes work in theory. And statistically the odds of a Knight using CS N1 actually being good for the game is small enough as to be negligible compared to the odds of it making things worse. Starting N2 those odds become drastically better.
I see fake D1 alch claims by non-immune evils a lot, and by a lot I mean at least 1 in 10 games. I can’t prove it but that is definitely my experience. There are also fake Merc claims. but even real ones are legitimate cs targets.
The only reason to not let knights cs n1 is fear of gamethrowing, which I do not consider a legitimate reason for anything, given the reporting system which, again, works so well.
The problem is the fine line between gamethrowing and bullshit (with proper play being on a different line between BS and Proper play). A N1 CS is right on the line
There’s nothing “bullshit” about coldsteeling d1 neut claims
but there IS something bullshit about the 90% of actual N1 CS’s that would happen
honestly I would CS n1 randomly if this happened.
No regrets but still I want to CS neutrals
