I’ll say now that this is essentially a rip from Town of Salem, but it’s quite different from our current NKs that I feel like it could work. Also the names are direct rips from Town of Salem as well, so if this actually got made, would need some new names.
Plaguebearer
- Patient Zero (Passive): Immunity to Death, Nightshade (Poison), Bleeding, Occupation, and Redirection.
- Infect (Night - Infinite): Infect a target with the Plague. The target will not be notified and the Plague does no harmful effects. Anyone who visits a Plagued player or anyone a Plagued player visits will also become infected, including people who visit/were visited by the player you Plagued tonight. This will also apply to players who do not actually visit (e.g., if a King guards a Plagued player, the King will become Plagued).
- Cloak of Flies (Day - 2 uses): Anyone who visits you tonight will become Plagued (thanks to Overthebin on Discord for this idea).
- Outbreak (Passive): When all players (except yourself [and maybe King, unsure on that]) are Plagued, transform into Pestilence!
Pestilence
- The End is Nigh! (Passive): Immunity to virtually everything (except detection such as Princess’s WoW), including Prince’s Execute and King’s Order Execution. No ability can prevent or hinder Pestilence in any way, shape, or form and he cannot be killed by any means except being executed during the day.
- Apocalypse (Night - Infinite): Destroy 2 targets from existence. This ability always hits (bypasses Prince Jail/Merc Guard) and always kills its targets (this attack cannot be healed). This ability is usable even if the Prince imprisoned you for the night.
The idea behind this
- You start as the weaker form which can’t do anything but infect. No kills will be coming from the NK for at least 3+ nights. Sometimes as few as 2 if you’re really lucky, but sometimes 5+. It’s kinda RNG.
- Once you finally transform, you become an unstoppable god that is intended to be OP due to how weak and slow the starting form is.
- You always kill 2 targets at night, no matter what (even if you or your targets are jailed). This is to counter the extra nights BD has been given with less deaths than one of the current NKs. The games will still be long, but once transformed, the court is on a rapidly diminishing clock to execute you.
- This will also hurt the meta of “Pardon and let Prince/King handle it”. I personally find it really annoying and this would at least slightly hinder that meta. Play too slow and Pestilence will overrun you. He can still attack from jail and is immune to the Prince/King’s Executions after all.
Update: I’m thinking that Plaguebringer would be a Special class (and thus show as Special/Investigative to Princess, or Special to classes that see one class type), and Pestilence would show as Killer(/Offensive for Princess Flirt). Calling Plaguebringer a “Killer” class would be weird and it would show a contradiction, similar to converted classes for Unseen/Cult then suddenly becoming Assassin/CL popping up different results. This would simultaneously give Plaguebringer a bit more defense against Princess Flirts (K/O are always sketchy unless immediately proven), while giving him more vulnerability later on, showing up as a Killer class instead. The early stage should be a bit protected while the later stage could certainly use some vulnerabilities to be able to find him.
