Noble Twin FTW! (SCREENSHOTS)

Not to mention that you are playing as Aristocrat rather than Noble. There are far more ways to setup this kind of situation as Aristocrat

This late in the game someone should only be voting to kill.

That isnā€™t true. If you vote a person in a 3 v 3 and he gets put on stand you know heā€™s innocent.

However your main point that PP could have achieved the same thing is correct.

So noble twin actually did nothing this game that political pressure could not have. Yet, I still support Noble Twin staying on Noble for those situations where people are faster with their votes than you are with your political pressure. As well as for those situations where you havenā€™t figured out the best plan of action yet, until the person is on trial.

So I support keeping Twin as a backup Political Pressure.

I ninjaā€™d my latest post that youā€™re replying to btw

That is only a good reason to keep twins if we didnā€™t have a reason to remove it. I can think of 2 reasons to remove it:

1: To prevent confirming him as non-Apostle
2: To open up an ability slot on the Aristocrat

That first point is negated by the fact that the notification can be made conditional to avoid confirming him as non-Apostle.

As for the second, what are you proposing?

I had a minor Aristocrat spy rework where he had only 1 use of global spy but also had an unlimited use scout spy as a day ability

Oh and making the notification hidden fails when you reach endgame situations

Yeah I guess Iā€™m onboard with your idea as long as we give Noble and converts 4 uses of PP. Also remove global maid spy completely from the entire game but let the ā€œscoutā€ spy be several or infinite uses.

This way evils can still try to conspire via whisper even if a noble has spied that day, and just dodge the scout.

Having one unseen member repeatedly whisper a random person to bait the scout, while another one actually whispers evil king, would make for interesting daytime plays

Nobleā€™s spy is another matter. Making it targeted scout style is just worse for everyone involved

2 use global is also less likely to catch a stray whisper like that than unlimited use scout spy

thatā€™s debatable, but more importantly, scout spy can be directly countered while global spy cannot. scout spy requires more skill

The second statement does not follow from the first and both of them require you to prove it rather than just asserting that it is true

The maximum number of whispers Scout Spy can expose to the Noble is exactly the same as Global Spy, but reaching this maximum requires luck, continuous input and choices while Global Spy requires none of that.

Global Spy and Scout Spy can both be prevented but once active, only Scout Spy can be proactively countered (e.g. baiting the scout to take it off a more important whisper) in a loose sense. Technically you can lie in whispers to counter both, but again, Scout Spy allows for more strategy.

It has a higher skill ceiling.

False. Global spy requires the same amount of decision making as Global Spy and has just as much potential for baiting.

The difference between Global Spy and Scout spy is what you need to know/guess to see the whisper: Scout spy needs the who and Global Spy needs the when.

Take a game in which the Sorcerer finds the assassin D5. If the Noble is randomly picking dayā€™s between 1-8 to spy on then the odds of seeing it are 1/4. If the assassin was the only missed kill then at the same time the odds for scout spy are also exactly 1/4. The more killes the higher the odds for scout spy and the later the game the less likely a global spy am be to see you.

However there are some other factors:

1: If someone is whispering constantly then a scout spy can catch all of it while a Global Spy cannot

2: If multiple Groups are whispering at the same time then a global spy is the only way to get all of that information

3: BD wants the Noble to see their whispers while they want the Aristocrat not to

4: Scum are more likely to whisper something suspicious late game (D5+)

5: We care more about how these abilityā€™s effect BD than Scum

This means that-

Scout Spy:
Discourages enemy whispers late game
Is a non issue early game
Is better when less people are being whispered to

Global Spy:
Discourages enemy whispers early game
Is a non issue late game
Is better when more people are being listened to

Therefore:

Global Spy on Noble encourages metaā€™s that we want and Scout spy discourages it and vice versa for Aristocrat

Can you give a less complicated version

Global Spy on Noble encourages metaā€™s that we want and Scout spy discourages it and vice versa for Aristocrat

But the skill cieling on a global is way lower than a Scout would ever be

aka one needs you to be good at the game and the other is just timing lol

Alright so what Iā€™m reading is that Scout Spy is objectively better in every way except for the fact that tweaking the meta in a positive direction is better done through the worse ability

Alright fine

Iā€™m not. Like I said scum have the most reason to whisper late game before factoring in spy. Making it harder for BD to have a spy on someone late game is thus better if that isnā€™t how we want it used.

And if that isnā€™t how it is being used then we need an alternative use which global spy provides. If whisper meta is not in play and people are whispering in small groups rather than in one large group then global spy can gather information from all of these groups at once and keep everyone information and cross reference information between groups.

These are all good things that justify global spy over scout spy.
