Not enough to gladiate obv town
To be clear, this is because it’s impossible to tell whether these are their true feelings or whether they are simply looking for a rise yet again. I’m sure the truth of the matter is somewhere in the middle, but at the end of the day dismissing someone out-of-hand simply because they’re almost certainly at least possible trolling just shows a lack of conviction in the logic behind the opinion you have come to hold.
The value of scumreads is not “lets find a scummy person and lynch them”
The value lies in being able to differentiate between scummy bd, real scums, and neutrals.
For me this means:
Fool improves scumreading, not devalues it.
Literally how else do you play a social deduction game.
Mountainous Games are a great example of “We all agree X is the Scummiest? Ok, lynch them.”
But Fool is inherently purposefully attempting to land itself in one of those categories.
Real scum and BD are not attempting to, and most Neutrals will also not be attempting to unless mechanical information forces them to openly claim Neutral.
At which point the reading is as you described.
But only Fool tries to act like one of those categories as its goal.
Why should you ever exe neutrals on purpose
Not related to fool but it’s something I’m interested by
-They’re sellsword
-They are actively parading against your wincon
-They have proven themselves to be of the enemy
-They are scummy
My personal opinion is that Lyncher roles (Scorned) are actually helped by social deduction, as they can, socially, take out their target. (Executioner) Lyncher roles might not even be given the choice of who they can lynch, so it is rather hard, but it is still possible.
I do like fool I am not arguing for something I dont believe in
Besides what @JakeTheWolfie said, because it isn’t their best interests for the game to end faster and so scumsiding to give majority is almost always objectively their best plan
What?
I want to know, according to Priestess, ehat would make fool a bad role to them?
Fool is a wonderful designed class. All of its abilities is helping directly to his wincon.
I guess if you would want to nerf fool, you could make his deathimmunity only count against neutral/evil classes.
An evil that cannot be lynched would be a wonderfully designed class then. It can still die to TK’s, but it’s real goal is to force the town to waste time night killing it.
wow, classes have abilities that help their wincon, that’s our new benchmark for good design
Good night, ladies.
