I think Scientist is at a similar spot to Officer where their macro has been pretty poor (I hate how they’ve approached me for instance, they’ve constantly shaded me and voted me without engaging or ever going through the legwork to case me) but they have had some small decent micro tells.
not sure if this is important or not to the situation, but this reminds me of a long time ago, when someone told me that if someone is null, but they have townie spots, they are more likely a villager because wolves who are null have a harder time being villagery
not sure if this is true or not, but for some reason your comment made me remember it
I generally place more importance on micro tells than macro ones nowadays but it’s all context dependent.
Hence why I’m paranoid of Student, since they have had a good macro approach to the game but nothing I can really hang my head on WRT their micro besides their confusion at the beginning of the game.
I’m going to be honest, from reading students posts (note I haven’t read all of them, I skimmed around to try to find important ones), if they are a wolf I will never find them for a good reason; good job if you are a wolf. Like you said, the way they have treated this game seems pretty good, I disagree with your micro take, there are some good micro parts (even though I wouldn’t stake my head on them), but I can’t find anything wrong with them that would lead to me making a case on them
if they are a wolf I cannot catch them this game and that’s ok
to explain on the micro part, I feel like some of their posts reveal their attitude/thoughts towards this game in a way that makes me believe they are a villager. But like, they aren’t blindly villager, their approach is just so good that you can’t really find any fault with it
I’m rereading D1, just for fun since I have nothing better to do, and I’m just wondering where the fuck did this whole thing disappear? Like you been constantly scumreading teleporter but you can’t channel this energy into an actual case against them?
From talking with teleporter, I feel more comfortable with their slot, esp if facilitator isn’t scum; they have no reason to partake in this discussion if they are a wolf. They could sit by and do nothing and no one would call them out on it because a lot of people itg are doing the same things as well. they are also the only one entertaining my wishes by being in the thread and just chatting with each other so I may be biased because of that but I don’t feel like I am
Does a villager actually say this when they are about to get misexecuted? Originally I said this response is bad but the more that I’m left alone just thinking the more that I think these thoughts can come from a villager who feels like they are a burden on the game, which isn’t the case but may be what they are feeling. How does this influence my overall read? Not sure, I’m just spewing out my thoughts here
I’ll be around at my computer in a couple of hours most likely.
I want to hear more from Fac. I’m not sure about them yet. Their mechanical slip up feels kind of not genuine though, based on how they said they were worried that Surv wouldn’t have any protection?
Socially, I think Scientist is the most wolfy. Their macro hasn’t been great and while they’ve had glimmers of good micro, it’s not enough I feel.
Like the thing with Fac is that if you’re genuinely worried that Surv isn’t gonna get any protection last night, why did you just yolo it and protect Scientist in that case?
If it turns out Facilitator is town, then it looks like we will be playing this on hard mode, since the only possible wolf out of the current flips would have been Coroner, which as likely as I think it is it’s not the perspective I want to be solving the game with.
Has anyone else noticed that when people are PoE’d in this game they suddenly become less villagery?.. Like normally I’d expect villagers in that situation to really bring out genuine emotion and solving, but I’ve not really seen any of this from Coroner or Facilitator, nor a sense of urgency.
This is a great way of describing Scientist’s play this game… though the thing is I can also see this being a villager not being confident on any of their reads and projecting differing levels of confidence to the truth.
This is pretty contradictory, admittedly. I don’t know if it’s wolf indicative, however.
Is it just me or does this last part look like the additional statement a wolf makes sure to add onto their post so it doesn’t look like they’re TMI’ing anyone? Like when I am a villager, I don’t feel much of a need to add things like this because I don’t really care if my posts look like I’m assuming the person I’m talking to is a villager for all intents and purposes. However, as a wolf I tend to be more aware of this sort of thing and make sure I add stuff like “if you’re a villager …” or “unless you’re a wolf”. I might be looking into this too much, but it’s something that just came to me.
