More often than not claims of being “threadspewed” come from villagers even if the thought process can’t be elaborated, so it’s not even a bad thing necessarily. I do think that most wolves have just accepted that you are town though, and a similar thing seems to be happening to me.
teleporter brings a lot of good-looking points, but i don’t townread any of them, and the biggest thing i townread about their slot is their reaction to potentially townslipping. other than that, i got nothing.
I just lumped my inner and outer PoE slots together, unordered. Scientist is almost purely process-of-elimination in that I think everyone in the tiers above has been a good degree townier, and then the four in the bottom (communist, office worker, drug lord, and ginger einstein) have had less towny posts thus far.
For Scientist in particular, I can’t say that I’ve found any posts I thought read as towny. I just don’t think any of their posts were memorable, is the main issue. I do want to ISO them but what I found odd was that I noticed a number of people saying Scientist was scummy while I was backreading everything from posts 1-400 in the thread, and yet nobody at all had voted them. So I placed my vote there for pressure, and it really hasn’t gained any traction, despite people still commenting on the slot. The only other player who placed their vote on Scientist has been Trapsetter, and even they thought I could be scum, so I’m not really sure what that says in terms of wagonomics.
that’s the most concrete reason to wolfread them that i remember.
it feels like the slot’s being cast by the wayside and having unexplained wolfreads thrown its way. nobody seems to care about it in the slightest.
I don’t see any other mention of Scientist for a loooong time.
Officer expresses a scumread on Student pretty early on.
Officer reverses the scumread on Student without any sort of prior reasoning given. They just go straight for calling Student ML bait along with whatever the consensus said. I don’t know why but I don’t really like the way Officer has changed their read without giving substantial evidence on why reading Student as ML bait seems more correct that outright scumreading them. Where is Officer’s progression?
Student is up in the town pile, which at least matches with the “ML bait” interpretation.
Scientist is in the PoE but has not been mentioned again by Officer since the start of the game, and they’ve also never interacted up to this point which is a little sus.
Here’s the second mention of Scientist, and it’s indirect because Officer just agrees with Scientist being a good wagon and doesn’t give any more reasoning on it.
Officer’s ISO is wholly underwhelming and their handling of Student and Scientist come across as odd and lacking in progression. I haven’t looked so much into their handling of other slots since I was focusing on two at a time, but that’s my impression.
Really, what I was mainly hoping my vote on Scientist would accomplish was to induce some pressure on the slot and some discussion from everyone else, but it’s been h o u r s and only now are people willing to discuss Scientist.
That being said, keep at it. I’m here to participate, too.
I feel like Eavesdropper is actually probably town. These posts aren’t amazing, but it just feels like they were written from the perspective of a villager really trying to get into Coroner’s head.
Like these, too. I just feel it. The latter post is congruent with their thoughts in the thread surrounding Security possibly being a villager due to everyone piling on them, and not realizing that the Sympathizer doesn’t know the identities of the Aliens.
Yes. A wolf does exactly what Security is doing right now. That’s exactly how they use their role to advance their wincondition as much as possible, by playing it off as being a bullheaded heroshooter giving them the excuse to shoot into the towncore. You’re right that it can come from a villager, but it’s just as likely if not more likely to come from a wolf here, so you shouldn’t townread Security for this.
Yeah, I kind of agree with this. They haven’t been actively wolfy or villagery.
if their shot is horrendous, i’m not shielding them anymore, but i still feel like it’s a villager.
though i think your point about them is good. but i think it’s a villager.
what do.
