I had communication as a town read earlier on in the game but now that I reread their posts I can see what people are saying with regards to them “having posts that aren’t as good as they seem”. One thing I don’t like about them is how they disliked my slot earlier on in the game but then ignored me as the game progressed; not sure where their head went with regards to my slot and I don’t rlly like that as it implies that they are scum who noticed it would be hard to push me. I don’t have a lot of time so I’m going to leave my vote on this slot for now, it would help if you don’t hammer as I could then look at the other slots I’m considering but it’s okay if you do.
On a side note, If we exe communications, I will freeze coroner. This is so we can guarantee that we can receive the results of the execution. Someone else can protect student, however, I think it would be best to guarantee our results if we exe communications.
Remember everyone here is probably a good player as both alignments lol.
That being said, the problem with that post was that, not only did it misconstrue the reason for suddenly not being townread (as Student pointed out), but it effectively creates a narrative in the thread for people who aren’t closely reading the game. There will be players who enter the thread and see that post first, and take it at face value and assume that’s really what happened. The issue with this is that it’s extremely useful as a wolf narrative, and really not a useful post for town to make unless they specify who and why - which they did not do. It’s spinning an incorrect reason as to why they aren’t townread, and urging players who are not paying close attention to the game to not read into it and just take the reason for granted.
I’m just assuming that in an invitational game, everyone would be expected to be competent and also choose to play the game on their own volition (seeing as everyone was invited). So seeing Coroner just dip out and Security kinda just doing whatever they please confuses me.
funny, i felt similarly about officer, then i took another look and it wasn’t as good. or i got biased by the thread.
could be, but i’d rather kill a wolf.
thing is, i don’t. i feel like the slot should be town, i like reading their posts, but i can’t say they are villagery posts.
because i think the general consensus is fine.
i don’t think being aggro 100% of the time is going to do anything. like i said earlier, i expect day 2 to be far more hectic.
actually a good mindset.
okay, eavesdropper is a villager, get into my core.
I see your point, but I think part of the issue is a personality thing in both of their cases lol.
In the case of Coroner I get the feeling they literally forgot this game existed and it’s completely NAI since the wolves don’t have a chat to poke each other for inactivity. I also kind of think they don’t want to exist either way because they just found something they were more interested in doing, which is unfortunately not this game (and it’s annoying but I can’t realistically jump to put them anywhere other than squarely a null in my list because they’re doing nothing).
In the case of Security I get the feeling they’re a player who has a decent rate of correct hero shots, if town, and so they can scrape by with this behavior regardless of their alignment. Considering it’s an alt game it obviously makes figuring out their motive more convoluted, especially because they admitted to RPing as well, but I want to see who they shoot and what their reasons are once they’ve done so. I think that’s the only surefire way to read Security.
Yes, I feel like I keep getting biased by the thread too. I remember thinking Communications and Officer had much better posts at the time than they actually did.
Good points here. Just was approaching it from a level 1 line and was thinking to myself “would wolf Comm be brazen enough to call out the thread for not villareading them”
