Paint Your Mafia… Mafia: Electric Boogaloo - Night 4 - Town wins!

i did not read how this game went but i think that giving out cop-checks and vig shots like candy is inherently townsided
my solution would just be to have a (semi)informed interpreter who can interpret the mafia actions as stronger than the town actions

by “rpg elements” i mean stuff like
if you draw just a gun, you get a gun item
thats cool but you cant just use it to instantly kill someone because thats not how guns work
for instance, you might want some bullets

while this idea would balance the game a lot more, I think that it also just takes away from part of the fun
a lot of the fun actually

Maybe you could limit the painters to X shots?

i mean if we make it harder for the town to get the super powerful abilities (giving them police hats [gives hated modifier] instead of a cop action) I think that thats a way to cut town power while still having everyone submit a painting every night and have it work
which in the end is what I really love about this format

Perhaps actions should be given levels. So like most basic investigative actions are level 1, vigs are level 5, and other actions fall somewhere in between. Some of the regular mafia roles could be ranked ahead of time so players have a general idea, and hosts assign a level if something new comes up during the game.

Then each painter gets a certain amount of “mana” or currency or something along those lines. Maybe earning a certain amount each day (perhaps a bonus for creativity or good drawings). Lower level actions/spells take less mana. This sort of goes along with other special FM games I’ve seen where there’s a store to buy abilities after you’ve earned enough currency. So in the beginning players can only do lower level actions and gradually build up to better ones.

I feel like that is gonna be unfun for most villagers who’s action didn’t get proceeded and also make solving less satisfying, since your action has less chance of working if you lynch correctly.

give the power to interpret drawings to the informed specs

Honestly could work.

Think one thing to remember is this concept will never be fully balenced without removing like everything that makes it fun.

It’s suppose to be wacky and yes trying to making it slightly more balanced is a good idea that removing said wackyness takes alot away from the concept in general.

It could be balanced by intentional malice is what I’m sayin’

I claimed to draw it to create first situation where scum has different PoV then town.
You know, scum had knowledge, town did not.

And then proceeded to not even share effect of anysis, cause it didn’t matter anymore.

Tl:dr - eevee created situation which he used to solve game for himself.

no
