i suppose so
the thing is i do roleplaying for the… roleplaying
i see mechanics as a separate aspect which is necessary to help the game progress
not as the core
My first real pathfinder campaign was pretty character-driven. We had interesting group dynamics, a dwarven Paladin, a (secretly devil-worshipping) Inquisitor and his personal evidence-stealer… at the end of the day they always ended up sitting on a campfire or in the tavern with lots of alcohol and talking about their day or just learning to know each other better, which was fun as hell to roleplay
that sounds super fun
The Paladin and the Inquisitor always tried to outclass each other in being the shiny knight in golden armor
(okay the semi-evil Inquisitor only tried to appear as such to irritate the Paladin, but hey ^^)
just fyi, this adventure path has a lot of combat and puzzles
There’s less room to add spontaneable roleplay than your standard campaign since it’s so linear
if this makes you want to not play this one, lmk
Aka, you probably will have mostly roleplay in the group, and not as much to npcs (i guess that’s also easier for our GM ^^)
Im a bad inexperienced gm who cant run anything outside of AP’s competently, so this is true.
Hey, same for me
I have gmed around 120 hours for pathfinder society, but I’ve never gmed outside of scenarios or modules
Roleplaying npcs is pretty hard for me, I try to do it as good as I can, but it’ll never be as good as someone who can do this naturally.
(tbh I was better in it than many others of us, cuz eh we had a ton of socially handicapped people like me, mostly nerds hihi. That didn’t stop anyone of us from gming, and with the time and experience I was able to improve it a bit)
Oh, I’m the complete opposite
I love incredibly in-depth mechanics; this is slightly overwhelming however
no, it’s fine
i wanna try pathfinder out anyway and i won’t get a better opportunity
Is everyone else’s chara ready?
I didn’t even know that Ami wanted to play
ami signed up a few weeks ago. I’m giving them 3 more days to finish
I think I’ll figure out equipment when we actually have a planned time for the RP’s beginning.
due to pride month starting, i’ve granted ami a 48-hour extension to have everything done. I believe everyone else is more or less good to go, so by 2020-06-04T05:45:00Z at the latest, we’ll be able to seriously start planning for the initial session.
As i said before, afterwards stuff can go at a more chill pace, and ppl can check in and out at any time so long as the initiative order is followed, but everyone has to be here concurrently at the very start.
Due to how this place usually does roleplay i’ll do my best to incorporate player on player roleplay opportunities, even though the story is linear.
this is ok
I think I’m just gonna pick some stuff at random, because I have no idea what’s needed and what isn’t. The systems I’ve played before weren’t nearly as strict in this regard. You could just assume that you had a certain item on hand, unless it was something unusual.
That’s fine. Keep in mind that I have exams starting in the middle of June, so I might be less active at the time.
