maybe change it to a single use of it for later in the game. so later, if say, you stabbed Fool Night 3, on Day 5 suddenly somebody posts dubious Sheriff logs on somebody who you strongly believe to be a villager for read reasons or from something that the Mystic told you, and you use the Trollbox to make it seem like that person is a Scorned target.
That’s like “adding a suicide button for BD classes”
an ability only used for gamethrowing… has no purpose and shouldn’t be added
Which ends up as Gamethrow if the person was actually evil
Or ends up as Gamethrow attempt in case the person wasn’t evil
both is punishable
the dynamics surrounding it are interesting enough that I think we should at least consider it, even if it’s an ability that has the sole purpose of being an FPS-enabler

if you put in your logs that you believed that person heavily to be village it’s not, it’s just a risky play
I think there are players who can actually do this without gamethrowing. But it’s like… 0.1% of all players.
I disagree, orange. any instance of the trollbox not being used immediately is “proof” that an evil player killed the Fool, which can then be used by a crafty BD player to divert the NK and the wolves against each other since they both believe the other to have the box, and a clever use that seemingly indicates who the “NK” is to the Unseen through say, a blatant fake taunt, can lead them into a Hunter.
There’s the obvious implications of what wolves could do if they had a tricky but potentially powerful ability not normally given to them, and the simple fact that it’s extremely useful for confimation and use as a simple telepathy.
it was a joke idea anyway. I’ll keep it on the list because it’s still not ideal due to being incredibly janky in terms of being an ability that grants access to another class’s ability and has UI problems, but it’s there.
i mean the chance that they can win the game. incredible, I know, but NKs do sometimes win games.
it mitigates the disadvantage of the fact that you’re now stuck in the body of somebody who has been trying to get themself lynched which is cool.
god this idea is awful in the worst possible way. maybe I should just add a clause that says that the BD can’t work the box properly and it just makes people say nonsense when they get access to it?
How about we remove fool and try to get actual social deduction that can’t be thrown out the window with “They could be fool tho”
