Him not townreading Hippo and yet not noticing Hippo’s still alive is really odd to me, because… How can you not townread someone and not notice they are still in the game? How do you get this read if you don’t know the person is alive? How do you still have this read if you think the person is dead? Because if the person is dead, they were either yeeted and flipped mafia (or town) or they were nightkilled and flipped villager. One would think Eli would remember who got yeeted, so by that logic he should think Hippo was nightkilled. But if Hippo was nightkilled, he’s town, so not townreading him makes no sense.
Did he mention not townreading hippo before mentioning he forgot he existed

Mostly Marl argument. If Arete and Eli are mafia, then Marl pushed a total of one villager for the whole game, and every other push was on a partner. That push on a villager also wasn’t consistent, because he backed off after Chloe replaced out. Keep in mind he didn’t know he was tracked until sometime into day 2, so you would have to assume that he decided to push only partners for no reason – for two days.
And like, I know, Marl likes to bus. We all know that, but that still seems a little excessive to me.
Also, Marl was the weakest mafia role. Why would he push all Mafia PRs over himself, exclusively the mafia PRs, might I add? In that world, he decided to kill the PRs on his own team over even trying to kill a villager.
Marl probably expected to be the deepwolf and hard carry if his team was eli, lol, and derps (who said they weren’t trying).
Wouldn’t be surprised for him to dunk on his partners.

not The push on Derps made sense, because Derps wasn’t trying. Derps was the second weakest mafia role, and also, Derps wasn’t even going over. So, it was nice distancing, but you’re making me assume he also bussed the other two partners. With better roles.
This only makes sense if you assume that the mafia team knew the exact town PR composition on day two, and bussing the PRs was fine to send Marl deep. Which is an OK thing to assume, but it’s bad wolf strategy and I think Marl knows better than this.
