Up to post 500 Luxy doesn’t seem to have too narrow outlook at the game at least, and the progression from PKR to Marshal during PKR push was iirc believable. So kinda seems fine.
Pointing out to look for Arete’s townreads feels like a good thought (more precisely, made in good faith to try to figure out stuff) that he’d probably wouldn’t have done as scum unless Arete was killed exactly for townreading a lot of scum lol (but I doubt it would happen).
Strange read, but I think this is more likely to come from newbie town mindset, because as scum you would only post this to fake villagery concern about chats, and that’s slightly beyond total noob level.
And as mafia I feel they wouldn’t even be talking about this like that, because it encourages towards more cautionary stance in neighborhood chat? Eh, not sure I’m formulating this good enough, and might not be wholly correct.

Ah, there is also the fact that very short time passed after the previous post about the reason for Arete’s death - which makes it more likely to be real thought spewed than fake thought deliberately wrtitten, which would be more difficult to do in such a short time (1 minute between those posts).

Interestingly enough, I might believe this story. And if I believe it, Hippo can’t be mafia (since he would have more awareness of what’s going on).
I’m not sure he fakes the fact that he was in process of reading thread and wanted to vote Arete for weirdness (by itself it’s very disctinctly townie thing to do, so you’d indeed need to fake such a thing happening as scum).
The timing of such faking would seem to be kinda random, among other stuff he said, which makes it more likely to be just the truth.
(I’ll choose this moment to say that before I came back to thread I was thinking about possibility of Marshal/Derps w/w, because I remembered Marshal reacted more tepidly to Derps suspecting him compared to PKR push, and Derps likes distancing/bussing too much unlike Marshal)
